Twitter CEO Elon Musk has agreed to train with UFC legend, Georges St-Pierre, ahead of a potential fight against Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
St-Pierre, 42, won two UFC division championships, at welterweight and middleweight, including a run of nine consecutive title defenses from 2008 to 2013. He retired in 2013, but returned four years later to finish Michael Bisping in claiming the 185-pound title in 2017. However, he retired shortly after the fight due to health concerns and has reportedly not fought ever since.
“I’m a huge fan of yours and it would be an absolute honor to help you and be your training partner for the challenge against Zuckerberg,” tweeted GSP, who is widely known as one of the greatest fighters in mixed martial arts history.
“Ok let’s do it,” Musk responded after the initial tweet by GSP.
The potential fight between Musk and Zuckerberg comes after Musk challenged Zuckerberg to a fight on Twitter. Zuckerberg later accepted the invitation to fight via an Instagram story post. Dana White, president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization, also confirmed that the two were “absolutely dead serious” about a potential match in the octagon.
“They both said, ‘yeah, we’ll do it.’ They both want to do it,” White said.
White also claimed that the fight between the two billionaires could be the “biggest fight ever.”
“This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world. Bigger than anything that’s ever been done. It would break all pay-per-view records,” White said. “These guys would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for charity. You don’t have to be a fighting fan to be interested in this fight. Everybody would want to see it.”
Zuckerberg has received numerous offers to train, including from UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, but has yet to accept any offers.
