Three U.S. Navy warships experienced a barrage of missile and drone strikes on Thursday, which were launched by Houthi terrorists as the U.S. ships traveled through the Red Sea on their way to aid Israel as a broader regional war looms.

The USS Spruance, USS Stockdale, and the USS Indianapolis were targeted “while they were en route to support and assist the Israeli enemy,” stated Houthi army Brigadier General Yahya Sarea.

Saree also claimed that the operation made “direct hits,” which U.S. officials contest, maintaining that all of the 23 projectiles launched were intercepted.

Although this is the largest attack that the Houthis have launched against American ships, it is not the first instance, as the USS Carney shot down 14 Houthi drones targeting the destroyer back in December.

The increase in rocket fire has evolved from the major escalatory actions between Israel and Iran’s proxy organizations, manifesting from the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Along with targeting American war ships, The Yemen-based Houthis also announced that they launched missiles targeting the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Ashkelon, to which IDF officials responded, reporting to have intercepted those missiles.

Meanwhile, Sarea vowed to continue the missile attacks until Israel’s offensive attacks in Gaza and Lebanon come to an end.

Israeli officials have also recently signaled that they will be actively preparing for a ground invasion in Lebanon, warning Lebanese civilians to evacuate their homes immediately as Israel prepares to target Hezbollah terrorists who are assisting Hamas in its ongoing war with the Jewish State.

“We will carry out more military operations against the Israeli enemy to triumph for the sake of our brothers’ blood in Palestine and Lebanon,” Sarea added.
