On Thursday, the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office in Orange Beach, Alabama announced that Alexis “Lexi” White and Kenneth Booth Jr. were found dead inside a Seaside Beach and Racquet Condominium unit early that morning.

“An apparent argument seemingly escalated to a point where Kenneth Booth, a Cullman County Deputy, drew a weapon and killed the victim,” the sheriff’s office said. “The victim was also an employee of the Sheriff’s Office and the two were involved in a dating relationship. Booth then turned the weapon on himself, taking his life.”

Reportedly, the murder-suicide happened at around 2:45 A.M. in Perdido Beach Boulevard.

According to the statement, White and Booth were in a relationship and an argument occurred.

The argument reportedly escalated and Booth ended up taking out a weapon and fatally shooting White before shooting himself resulting in both of their deaths.

Sheriff Matt Gentry stated that White had been working at the sheriff’s office since she was 16-years-old.

“Lexi has been a part of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office since she was 16. She was a charter member in our Youth Leadership Academy, and was involved in every one after that – either as a participant, or coach,” he said. “There are not enough words to express what she and her family mean to me. I am literally heartbroken. I feel like Lexi is one of my own kids”

The incident is reportedly being investigated by the Orange Beach Police Department.
