Multiple people were killed in a small town in South Georgia on Thursday, including a fast food worker and two relatives of the gunman.
According to CBS news, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) confirmed that “multiple people were shot to death at different locations in Moultrie, Georgia,” a town of 15,000 located approximately 60 miles northeast of Tallahassee, Florida.
Colquitt County Coroner C. Verlyn Brock told CBS news that a male shooter shot his mother and grandmother in their homes, then went to a McDonald’s where he shot and killed a woman who was the assistant manager of the fast food restaurant.
The coroner said that the shooter then killed himself.
Brock also said that the mother of the shooter died on scene, but his grandmother, who lived next to door, was transported to a hospital where she later succumbed to her wounds.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities of the victims or the shooter.
Police, who had shut down traffic on one of the main streets of the South Georgia town, said that the investigation is ongoing.
“We are working to learn more information and track down some additional witnesses,” GBI Special Agent Jamy Steinberg said.
This is developing story.
