DOJ reaches settlement with families of Sutherland Springs shooting victims

The families of the victims of the mass shooting that occurred in Sutherland Springs, Texas, in 2017 have tentatively achieved a settlement of $144.5 million, according to the Department of Justice.

A mother of five from Oregon alleges that her gender-related religious convictions prevented her from adopting two siblings in her state, and she is now suing to defend her First Amendment rights.
