DeSantis sides with Daniel Penny, man who choked Jordan Neely on NYC subway

In a tweet on Friday night, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis hailed Daniel Penny, the former marine accused of manslaughter in the death of homeless subway passenger Jordan Neely in New York earlier this month.

Tornado hits South Texas near Gulf coast, one killed and 60 homes damaged

Just before dawn on Saturday, a strong tornado tore through a town close to Texas’ southernmost point, damaging dozens of homes and bringing down power lines, according to authorities. One person was killed and a curfew was put in place.

Supreme Court throws out convictions in NY corruption scandals

The Supreme Court has sided with Joseph Percoco, a former adviser to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who said on Thursday that a federal anti-bribery statute should not have been applied to imprison him.

Supreme Court rejects challenge to CA pork law that mandates more space for pigs
