A new dashcam video released by Texas authorities may assist investigators in locating a missing teenage girl who has been unaccounted for since Christmas Eve. Authorities believe the 19-year-old is “in imminent danger.”

Camila Mendoza Olmos has not been seen or heard from since around 6:58 a.m. on December 24th after she got out of bed and walked out of her family home. Security footage captured her rummaging through her car before leaving by foot in a baby blue and black hoodie, baby blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes.

On Monday, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar released grainy video footage of what could potentially be Mendoza Olmos walking northbound along Wildhorse Parkway near her home at around 7 a.m. local time.

“We believe that it captured Camila, just walking … alone, at least at that point, a few minutes after the video that was captured in her driveway,” Salazar said of the new footage that was captured by a neighbor.

“This is the last confirmed sighting investigators currently have,” Salazar added.

The sheriff could not confirm with 100% certainty that Mendoza Olmos was pictured in that video, but added the clothing description matches up.

“Camila’s mother stated that Camila normally goes for a morning walk; however, she became concerned when Camila did not return within a reasonable period of time,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Salazar claims authorities released the video in hopes somebody may have collected a similar video.

“This was the best direction of flight that we were able to develop,” he said.

Salazar assured the public that sheriff’s deputies and volunteers have been searching day and night for Mendoza Olmos.

Many agencies have stepped in to assist with the search, including the FBI, which is providing technical assistance, and the Department of Homeland Security, which is monitoring border crossings and international travel.

“We definitely don’t want to miss anything,” Salazar said. “We’re also not ruling out that this case may take us outside the borders of the continental United States.”

Authorities report Mendoza Olmos only retrieved her car keys and possibly her driver’s license before walking out of her house, leaving her phone behind.

Salazar mentioned it was unusual for Mendoza Olmos to leave her phone at home as she leads an active lifestyle and it’s “highly unusual” that she hasn’t returned.

It was reported that Mendoza Olomos recently went through a romantic breakup, but authorities said the breakup was mutual and do not suspect anything “nefarious” was involved.

Authorities have expressed concern over Mendoza Olmos’ mental health, noting a past history of suicidal ideation. Salazar emphasized that help is available and that her family loves her.

The sheriff did not disclose every detail of Mendoza Olmo’s disappearance. However, he suggested she is in imminent danger and requested help from the community in the search.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at (210)335-6000 or the BCSO Missing Persons Unit via [email protected].
