North Korea issued another stern warning to the U.S. as drills continue between South Korean and U.S. forces. On Wednesday, a spokesman for North Korea’s foreign ministry said threats of a preemptive war against Pyongyang have made future war unavoidable on the Korean peninsula.
Six U.S. fighter jets arrive in South Korea, for a new round of joint air drills and war rehearsals against North Korea. The F22 Raptors, sent by the Defense Department, arrived earlier on Saturday. They will join the South Korean Air Force in a four day joint military exercise, just days after Pyongyang launched an intercontinental ballistic missile.
New satellite images reveal North Korea may be constructing yet another missile launch pad. The pictures obtained Friday by Image Sat International, show activity in the same area used to launch the regime’s first ICBM earlier this year.
The Pentagon says initial reports indicate a missile launched by North Korea was an intercontinental ballistic missile. The South Korean military said the missile was launched from a province north of Pyongyang. It flew east for about 50 minutes, and landed in Japan’s economic zone of the East Sea.
