Defense Secretary Mark Esper has expressed he fully supports the removal of Navy Captain Brett Crozier after he raised concerns of COVID-19 on his aircraft carrier. On Sunday, Esper reiterated that he stood by Navy Secretary Thomas Modly’s decision to relieve Crozier from command on the USS Theodore Roosevelt.

The captain of an aircraft carrier, which is now faced with a growing outbreak of COVID-19 on board, has called for the quarantine of roughly 5,000 of its crew members. In a letter obtained exclusively by The San Francisco Chronicle, the captain of the USS Theodore Roosevelt requested top Navy leaders to allow his entire crew to self-isolate.
The U.S. Military has come to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. Defense Secretary Mark Esper has ordered all troops to remain where they are for the next 60 days.
