The White House has targeted Republican officials for the rise in coronavirus cases. Speaking from the White House on Tuesday, Joe Biden specifically blamed Texas and Florida.
Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) has recommended his state return to wearing masks after a surge in new COVID-19 cases. In a press conference on Friday, Edwards urged people, regardless of being vaccinated, to wear masks when indoors and when social distancing wasn’t possible.
The Governor of Alabama urged more residents of the state to get vaccinated. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Gov. Kay Ivey (R-Ala.) blamed the surge in COVID-19 cases on people who have refused to get the vaccine.
