President Trump praised U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson ahead of the country’s general election. During his London visit Tuesday, the president said Johnson is “very capable” of winning the upcoming election.

Brexit is expected to be a focal point of the election and President Trump has previously said Johnson is the most promising candidate to reach a deal. The president went on to say he wouldn’t get too involved with the election, but further endorsed Johnson.

“They asked me whether or not Brexit would happen — I said ‘yes’ and everybody smiled and they laughed…the next day they had the election and I was right, but I stay out of it,” he stated. “I think Boris is very capable and he’ll do a good job.”

Outside of his scheduled NATO meetings, President Trump said he would be meeting with Johnson who is set to host a reception at the summit. Meanwhile, the U.K. is set to hold its general elections on December 12,2019.
