A rail company confirmed that a train with 31 Union Pacific train cars derailed on Tuesday morning.

Union Pacific spokesperson Kristen South, reported that around 1:45 a.m. a train derailed in GothenBurg, Nebraska. The train had been transporting coal. Although no injuries were reported after the incident, a hazmat team had been deployed to the area as a precaution.

Train tracks near the site opened around 8:00 a.m. following the derailment. This incident comes weeks after the devastating incident in East Palestine, Ohio where a train derailed causing a chemical spill.

The fallout from that incident is still being felt in the nearby area, with reports of symptoms and chemical fallout being reported miles away from the site.

Another train had also derailed in Michigan on February 16th, but there were no chemical or other dangerous substances onboard the train.

The cause of the incident in Nebraska is currently under investigation South told the public, and that they will be transparent moving forward to prevent further accidents.
