A Missouri man has been charged in connection with the death of his wife. According to reports, 28-year-old Beau Rothwell was taken into custody last week following the disappearance of his wife Jennifer Rothwell. She was reported missing on November 12th when her car was found abandoned nearly two miles away from her home. Officials arrested her husband after searching his residence, where they reportedly found spots of blood and carpet soaked in bleach.
“I think we knew, unfortunately, with last week’s events that this was something that was not going to end in a positive manner,” said St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar.
Nearby security footage obtained by police also showed Beau Rothwell purchasing cleaning products, including bleach, gloves and carpet cleaner, the day before he reported her as missing. Authorities said the suspect’s attorney provided information upon questioning, which led them to human remains.

The body was found late Monday night near a highway in the town of Troy, which is just north of St. Louis. Authorities are reportedly still waiting for DNA verification.
The suspect has been charged with second-degree murder as well as tampering with evidence. Police are continuing their investigation and are working to determine a possible motive.
