The mayor of Rochester, New York was charged in connection with her husband’s illegal activity. In the indictment, which was unsealed on Friday, Lovely Warren has been with faced with several charges including criminal possession of a firearm and child endangerment.

The charges stemmed from a police raid on the Democrat’s house in May, where investigators were looking to connect her husband to a local drug ring. Warren has refused to accept an responsibility for the incident and has denied owning the gun.

The Rochester mayor claimed she was separated from her husband at the time.

“I’ve since learned that the gun was registered to my mother-in-law. The facts and the truth is on our side,” she asserted. “I am looking forward to being found innocent because I did nothing wrong.”
