Joe Biden announced new steps to bring down the cost of living under his economy. He seemingly conceded that Americans are struggling economically under his watch. Speaking to reporters Monday, Biden said that he has consulted with his competition council to get rid of what he describes as junk fees. These include overdraft fees on people’s checking accounts or their credit card payments plus processing fees for online payments.

“This council is going to come back to me with a plan for eliminating these fees. Families shouldn’t have to pay these fees. No one’s sneaking surprise charges into bills, like a $55 processing fee for a hotel room that you’re trying to book. A processing fee. You find out later. No more hiding the price that you’re paying. Now you’re going to know what the prices are. And all, it’s all taking money out of the pockets of average Americans.”

However, he proceeded to take a victory lap on his own economic performance claiming people are seeing increased incomes and that unemployment has dropped significantly.

Analysts disagree, saying that Americans have lost over four thousand dollars in their annual income since Biden took office.

Additionally, consumer prices have gone up by 12 percent since January of 2021 which has stripped buyers of at least three thousand dollars in purchasing power.

“Here’s what I want the American people to know: because of the resilience, the American people’s resilience, and because of the economic strategy we pursued, the united states of America is in a stronger position than any other country to navigate these global challenges. Period. Jobs are up, incomes are up. People are back to work. And American manufacturing is roaring back. Excuse me for the cough. We’re taking inflation very seriously by enacting policies to bring down costs for people.”

Biden then went on to tout his progress in bringing down the pain at the pump after it was reported that gas prices dropped by at least five cents.

The national average gas price currently sits around three dollars and 70 cents per gallon according to the latest numbers from AAA.

This should not be a point of celebration as gas prices remain more than a dollar and 30 cents higher than when he took office.

“In addition to that, a big part of how we’re going to keep making progress is by increasing competition in the economy. That’s why we have the competition council here, and it starts with energy prices. We’ve made historic progress. We’ve made historic problems with the price of gas down in dollar versus the some in some states is below three bucks.”

In the meantime, a recent poll shows 74-percent of lower-income Americans are feeling the pressure from Bidenflation.

The temporary tents will be used to house some of the estimated 13,000 migrants who have been bussed into the city from Texas since August. Another location to house migrants has yet to be chosen. According to city officials, shelters are currently at capacity leaving little room for members of the the migrant community who continue to arrive weekly. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)

As illegal migrants continue to cross into the United States, border states have been sending migrants to “sanctuary cities.”

Missouri Senator Josh Hawley is hoping to make it easier for states to deport illegal immigrants. Hawley introduced the empowering states to deport illegal immigrants act today, allowing states and local law enforcement to enforce certain federal immigration laws.

Under this law, the power to begin prosecutions for federal violation of immigration law would be provided to state prosecutors. This comes after Republicans criticize the Biden Administration for not doing enough to secure the border.

Border officials say more than two million illegals have been apprehended at the border this fiscal year, a record high.

In NYC, several more buses are expected to arrive Tuesday. This influx of migrants has caused NYC to construct a “tent city,” which will be a large area with heated tents to hold illegal migrants while they wait for a screening process.

“We don’t want what is supposed to be temporary to become permanent. So we don’t want this temporary respite center to end up becoming a de facto shelter for folks where there is a thousand beds, right? Where people are going to be sleeping and literally just being there in Orchard Beach, which is incredibly far from true mass transit.” said Murad Awawdeh, the executive director of NY immigration coalition.

Meanwhile, NYC Mayor Eric Adams continues to criticize the release of migrants into the city, pointing at Republicans governors like Greg Abbott, Doug Ducey, and Ron DeSantis, although critics say his criticism should be directed towards the Biden Administration.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott holds a commanding lead against Democrat opponent Beto O’Rourke. In a poll from Emerson College Polling, Abbott has 50 percent support while O’Rourke only has 42 percent.

This lead is similar to one found by the same polling firm in February. 63 percent of Texas voters expect Abbott to be re-elected while only 37 percent think O’Rourke has a chance to unseat him. Abbott maintains a net positive 12-point favorability rating while O’Rourke is 8 points under.

A debate with Greg Abbott and Beto O’Rourke will be held on Friday, September 30 at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg.

Joe Biden’s Student Loan Plan Will Cost Taxpayers https://www.oann.com/newsroom/joe-bidens-student-loan-plan-will-cost-taxpayers/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=joe-bidens-student-loan-plan-will-cost-taxpayers https://www.oann.com/newsroom/joe-bidens-student-loan-plan-will-cost-taxpayers/#respond Tue, 27 Sep 2022 19:31:48 +0000 https://www.oann.com/?p=68143 The Congressional Budget Office estimates Joe Biden’s executive action canceling student debt will cost taxpayers billions.

Last month Biden announced his three-part plan, wiping out upwards of $20,000 in debt for any individual making less than $125,000 per year. This plan has received criticism from Republicans, noting the cost would be pushed onto taxpayers.

In the report released Monday by the CBO, a non-partisan group, the estimated cost to taxpayers would be roughly $400 billion, with an estimated 90% participation of eligible recipients.

A government shutdown is becoming a real possibility. Congress has less than a week to come to an agreement on government funding as the funding will expire this Friday at midnight.

Lawmakers released a short-term stopgap bill that would keep the government funded until December 16. The Senate is expected to hold a procedural vote on Tuesday Night.

Senator Joe Manchin is reserving support for any democrat-led funding measure unless it includes oil and natural gas permitting reforms. Several Republican Senators are opposed to Joe Manchin’s energy plans being included in the stop-gap bill.

“If the Democrats insist on including permitting reform, I will oppose,” said Senator Richard Shelby.

The White House says this is not the first time the government faces shut-down, adding they believe it can be averted. The last government shutdown took place on December 22, 2018 until January 25, 2019.

South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace stated in an interview on Sunday with NBC’s Meet the Press “I’m going to support whomever Republicans nominate in 2024.” During this interview, Mace expressed her opinion on the growing pressure from republicans to impeach President Biden, stating she wouldn’t vote for it if she felt due process was stripped away.

Representative Mace won the South Carolina race against Trump-backed challenger, Katie Arrington.

Nancy Mace had been the target of President Trump’s ire after refusing to speak up against certifying the 2020 Presidential Election. She stated she voted against the bill, saying the Vice President does not have the constitutional right to overturn the results of the electoral college.
