California Republican gubernatorial candidate John Cox has picked up another key endorsement thanks to his “tough on crime” platform.

The Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs endorsed Cox on Thursday, praising his support for crime victims and law enforcement.

The group also expressed optimism that Cox’s policies will not only make communities safer, but will also make them more affordable.

The endorsement comes just days after Cox slammed Governor Jerry Brown for increasing the number of felons out on parole.

“I think we have to be very tough, you know I lament the fact that our criminal justice system is letting so many people and doing plea bargains to let people out on the streets,” he stated. “I think of Anthony Wheeley who was a young man who was murdered in cold blood up in Ventura by a guy who was out, this guy had a wrap sheet as long as my arm.”

John Cox has also received support from law enforcement agencies in cities like Stockton and San Diego.

President Trump has already endorsed Cox, and told the people of California he will be the greatest governor they ever had.
