A White House aide resigns from his post amid allegations of domestic abuse.
Former Staff Secretary Rob Porter released a statement Wednesday in which he adamantly denied the accusations against him.
Two of ex-wives claim he was verbally and physically abusive during their relationships, and have supported their claims with alleged photographic evidence of their injuries.
Porter was reportedly denied a security clearance in the White House due to the accusations.
“Rob (Porter) has been effective in his role as staff secretary and the president and chief of staff have had full confidence and trust in his abilities and his performance,” said White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Despite his resignation, Sanders said Porter’s exit will not happen immediately, and he will stay on to ensure a smooth transition moving forward.
