United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that the United Nations Security Council is in complete solidarity when it comes to finding a solution for the problems in Libya.
The United Nations Security Council held a meeting Wednesday regarding the ongoing turmoil in Libya.
Martin Kobler, Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, said he is particularly worried about the fighting in the south, the internal displacements, the human terror situation, and the lack of food and medical equipment.
US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said all members of the Security Council are dedicated to working on a solution.
“So we are very excited about the fact that the council was in complete solidarity in terms of Mr. Kobler’s support as well as having a political solution with all parties. I think that’s the one thing we see that all these factions fighting against each other are not doing anything to help the Libyan people. We want to see the parties come together, have one political solution, one government, one military, so the Libyan people can move forward,” Haley said.
Kobler said it is time for the UN to take a strong leadership role in this situation.
And to lead the way to find a peaceful solution instead of a military solution.
