The United States vetoes a United Nation vote to stop the American embassy move to Jerusalem.
U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley voted down the resolution Monday after it was presented during a Security Council meeting.
The failed resolution would have made the U.S. rescind it’s declaration of Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel.
It also demanded all countries comply with the ten Security Council resolutions on Israel already in place since 1967.
Before the vote, Haley condemned the previous resolutions against the Jewish state.
“For decades Israel has withstood wave after wave of bias in the U.N. and its agencies,” said Haley. “The United States has often stood beside Israel…we did not on December 23, 2016…we will not make that mistake again.”
Haley went on to say the Obama-era resolution became a stain on America’s conscience after it passed.
