A 32-year-old firefighter who died battling the Thomas Fire in California’s Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties is identified. Cal Fire’s Chief says Corey Iverson died on Thursday while in the line of duty.
Massive wildfires are affecting several counties in Southern California. Authorities say the Los Angeles area faces its highest wildfire risk Thursday with wind gusts up to 85 miles-per-hour. The fires have prompted the evacuation of more than 100,000 residents, and left at least 11,000 without power.
