Senator Al Franken is stepping down from his position amid sexual misconduct allegations. The Democrat announced his resignation from the Senate floor Thursday amid calls for him to step down from more than 30 of his Democrat colleagues, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Senator Al Franken spent this Sunday talking to local Minnesota media outlets to address mounting sexual harassment accusations in the face of waining approval ratings. Recent polls shows Senator Franken’s approval sharply dropping in the wake of accusations from four different women including the initial claim made by LA radio host Leann Tweeden.
Two more women come forward to accuse Democrat Senator Al Franken of unwelcome sexual advances. The accusers say Franken touched them inappropriately, and spoke on the condition of anonymity.
