Mitch McConnell vows to speed-up the confirmation process of President Trump’s judicial nominees.

The Senate majority leader is reportedly seeking to overturn a tradition requiring home state senators to sign-off on a judge before a senate vote.

This comes after several Conservative groups including Judicial Crisis Network expressed frustration over the slow pace of judicial nominations.

The group had threatened to run a $250,000 ad campaign demanding McConnell change the confirmation rules.

It has revoked that plan after McConnell’s promise to accelerate the pace.

You can just see the HATE in his eyes as he looks at PRESIDENT TRUMP.

  • WaitingForTheStorm

The Republican party is in trouble. I will support real conservatives, and if they don’t win the primaries I will simply stay at home in the general elections. I hate to say it, but these in-place legislators are no better than the dems; they advance the dems’ legislative agenda through inaction. A small cabal of fake-republicans are standing in the way and directly contradicting their promises made when odumbo was in office and they knew that they would never have to perform. I am convinced that they were unhappy that HC lost the election, as was evidenced by their disdain for our current President Trump. There is a reckoning coming, and it won’t be pretty. The pundits will paint it as a backlash against President Trump and his policies, when it will really be a revolt against the RNC and its minions.

  • Beachguy53

He’ll do it at a turtles pace. F him.

  • pemaddin

They should be careful of believing what McConnel says, he has shown he takes very little action.

  • seawulf

The only time O’Connell does anything for this country is when he is threatened. That is not a leader. Hey Kentucky! Stop electing him!!!!

  • landwell

McConnell – Poster child for repealing the 17th Amendment, and allowing a mechanism for State Legislatures to recall Senators and Representatives.

  • Mac

    He’s going broke from Bannon.

    We need to “DITCH MITCH”.

Sen. McConnell Vows To place lips on President Trumps fanny is more like it.

  • Sig

Nine months into Trump’s term and a threat of a $250k ad campaign being run against you, and finally he vows to speed things up. What’s wrong Mitch? You don’t want to promise you’ll do it? Oh yeah…that’s right! Something about promising to repeal something the last seven years. Wait! It’ll come to me!

  • Scott Henke

Of course he will, now that there’s calls for his resignation.

  • maurinemwheatley

    Get it done Mr. McConnell……………..

  • Elizabeth A. Parks

I give him credit for that response, but he has to do it. That would be a great thing.

  • ttruax

The least he can do now that his wallet is under threat.

  • Deplorable_Pam

Much to McConnell’s dismay there’s plenty of Americans left and they’re now paying attention and very engaged civically. Thank God, I only wish this would have happened 20 years ago, the country wouldn’t have been nearly as divided and watered down with socialist.

  • hobartneck

    “accelerate”… in McConnel’s world, that’s 2MPH

  • Richard McMeekin

I served as a senior staffer in the Senate during Watergate. Senators loftily think of themselves as Statesmen. Meanwhile the Democrats are vicious gutter fighters who sucker punch their Republican adversaries at every turn!

The current US Senate will be dubbed by historians as “The Reluctant Majority!” Without the ‘Nuclear Option’ Conservatives Never get anything of substance done. It appears even though he’s been asked by POTUS to do it McConnell won’t. The only way to Make America Great Again is for McConnell to be replaced, or else do the job he well knows must be done.

Those who make a living from the law have no business laking laws.
Need help getting approval for a government service/benefit hire a lawyer.

  • Disgusted Caucasian

The only thing this giant swamp rat wants to accelerate is the agenda of his corrupt donors.

  • scotwolf

McConnell needs a fire under his rear!

    • Jim

Like a boot up his backside!

  • TexanForever

Can’t trust a thing this sneaky old swamp rat says. He holds a blade behind his back, just waiting for his chance.

  • Just A Guy

Don’t believe a word this shyster says. He’s a lying RINO from the neck down and the armpits up.

  • RMCS Ret.

Just do your job Mitchie boy. That is if your capable of it. If your not, give it up and let somebody else have a go at it.

  • RueDeLaDeplorable

What needs to happen is a new law which allows for the rapid impeachment and removal of the left wing judges who are clearly violating the separation of power clause.

  • Darwolford Wolford

Time to repeal and replace McConnel

    • Durak

Just peel him and place him back home.

  • ShortSweet

McConnell needs to step down. He is a prime example for the need of term limits. RINO just like Ryan. Both are useless.

  • ginjit.dw

How about some of the 200 or so bills passed by the lower house. How about t’s reform??? How about aca???? Why is he still in a leadership position..

  • Alison420

How many times has the worthless RINO lied about getting things done? I lost count when it went to 4 digits.

  • Pezgun

The clock is running on McConnell.

  • j jones

The mouse a poor excuse for a human being

  • Dell Wilber

Eff McConnell; he’s the most worthless person in DC, right now…(except when he goes to Kentucky)…

  • anotherday

Tradition of being the choke point on almost everything Congress does is plain to see.

    • Bull7822005

Slowing down the legislative process ‘in the furtherance of deliberation’ is not always a bad thing. Remember that the Senate was designed for that purpose, as well as to represent the interests of the Statehouses (at least until the 17th Amendment)

      • anotherday

The House has passed like 100 bills and sent them to the Senate where they languish.
The Senate was designed for that but they have added a host of other rules that essentially make thing stop.

  • LB

Too little too late. You are done as leader in 2019 and out of Congress in 2021

    • ShortSweet

Wish I could vote against him. All I can do is encourage those who can to kick him out.

      • TexanForever

        same here

  • Jake

“It has revoked that plan after McConnell’s promise to accelerate the pace.” Just a suggestion guys, don’t revoke anything until you SEE some results.

  • Roy Beane

Hopefully McConnell is #1 on Bannon’s target list of getting rid of do-nothing GOP senators.

    • LB

Yeah but that isn’t until 2020. We need 4 or 5 more true conservatives in the Senate to counteract the 4 turncoats; Paul, Collins, Murkowski and McCain, none of whom are up for reelection in 2018.

  • Cheryl the Deplorable

It’s been almost a year and his job as “Puppet to the Chamber” is on the line NOW he wants to try. Too late, you’re a disgrace.

  • Don Clap

    Mitch, a useless windbag

    • HarryObrian

But sadly, a rich and powerful, useless windbag who, like many others at his dinosaur age, has nothing to lose by urinating on the President.

  • Roy Beane

Until McConnell gets rid of the stupid 60 vote majority on passing bills and knocks it back down to a simple 51 vote majority, nothing will ever pass Congress…………and he KNOWS it. That’s why he has that smug smirk on his face. He has NO intention of passing ANYTHING Trump wants. DITCH MITCH NOW !!!!

    • LB

He’s already done that in effect. It’s Collins, Murkowski, Paul and McCain that scuttle the Conservative Agenda in the Senate.

      • Mac

He has the power to remove them from powerful committees, but is a woos.

        • LB

          Good point!

      • Bull7822005

Rand Paul is more conservative and true to our Constitutional heritage than all of the other RINOs; Maybe you are referring to Paul Ryan? Agree that Collins, Murkowski, and McCain are RINOs that spiked reform. I was OK with McCain’s generally tepid commitment to the “party line”, but his flip-flop on his vote to reform smacks of co-option somewhere along the line.

        • LB

Regardless, he has been an obstacle, and very likely not going to vote for any of the legislative proposals that Trumps would sign. Rand Paul is a Libertarian. He appears to be a perfectionist in his pursuit. He clearly does not like Trump and has chosen to scuttle any compromise that might move us back toward a more conservative approach to governing. As such, he is actually thwarting conservatism, even though he may be more fully aligned with it’s principles. That doesn’t do the country any good because his brand of conservatism, with such a slim Senate Majority and three RINOs, is, in effect, has the same effect as if he were a radical leftist.

Ideals are fine until they stand in the way of progress toward those ideals because the progress doesn’t go far enough. Leftists learned that a long time ago. Don’t wait for the big move, take what you can get, entrench at that point until you can move another foot. Pretty soon, you’ll have advance miles without anyone noticing how far you’ve gotten.

Paul needs to take a page from that book and stop being so obstinate.

    • PGCDan

Just to clarify the process, you only need a simple majority to pass a bill, and it’s been like that for a while. That’s 51 votes. The 60 votes is to squash a filibuster to proceed from conference and move to vote.

  • Casey Wallace

How about run a campaign on getting Mitch removed!

    • zakarac

    • Rose Ribitzki

Now that would be a campaign worth running !!!!!!

    • A marcus Young

McC is just another dirty politician running tricks for the Democrat Party. Twerking for the citizens just to keep the Democrat party relevant.

    • harrydweeks

Bannon needs to start a National Petition.

    • Zeb

      It’s basically a do-nothing RINO Congress vs a do-something President!

      • Sane_Person37

        Yea, “accelerate judicial nominees?”

Hey McChuckles, Who GAF. Get the important stuff on Trump’s agenda done you worthless idiot.

      • HarryObrian

Mitch must have a ‘vested’ interest in a few of those judges. What used to be a government of the people, for the people and by the people is now a 3rd world government of the politicians, for the politicians and by the politicians… so pathetically sad.
And now we have crybaby Cruz who is still sulking, saying that the tax hikes won’t happen until next year, “maybe”; again one wonders what his ‘vested’ interests in that are?
