Secretary of State Rex Tillerson doubled down on the President’s new Afghan strategy from the State Department on Tuesday, saying we can turn the tide on losing the battle, and that the Taliban will not win.

Tillerson said the U.S. will work with regional allies Pakistan and India, but that they must reject terrorism.

He briefly mentioned North Korea, saying he sees a path to dialogue with the rogue nation since they recently showed some level of restraint.

Tillerson’s comments come after the top commander in the Middle East said new U.S. troops will arrive in Afghanistan within days, or weeks.

He also said that we might not win either. It was the most stupid thing he could have said, for now, even though no time line has been set, they will figure that all they have to do is wait for political pressure forces Trump to pull out. There is no substitute for you-know-what, and that is what he should have said we will stay until it is achieved.

Tillerson comes from the CFR, as a corporate member. Like his predecessor Hillary he represents the corporate interests.

Has an interesting side note, Bill and Chelsea Clinton are individual CFR members

    America will win battles.
    Taliban will lose battles.
But, America will never win the war.
America will never win “hearts and minds” of Afghans.
Why’s that? It’s against their religion.
More U.S. Soldiers will periodically die for nothing.
    Just like Vietnam.

I’m sure the peaceful folks in Afghanistan would love to go back to the semi-western culture they were in the 60’s/70’s. They could listen to music, wear whatever clothes they wanted and they had tourism. Personally I think we could win the war easily if the swamp was truly drained but having an ongoing war in what amounts to the worlds largest shooting range (little collateral damage economically speaking) is a good cover for siphoning taxpayer money.

The real enemy is at home:
        The Congress.
It’s infested with reptiles and beasts.
        Wolves in sheepskins!!!!
        Whose fault?
        The “trusting” American Voters.
They were serenaded, lulled into contributing & voting; and then, lied upon and deceived after the winners entered the gilded halls of Congress.
There, the donors, lobbyists – took management & control, behind the wheels, behind the scenes.
Voters: BE WISE – don’t just open pockets, arms and thighs.

No worries! Lil’ Kim’s missile capabilities look more like a mentos and diet coke experiment, state propaganda aside.

  • I think we need to nuke China. They gave Pakistan and N. Korea nukes. They have or will arm Iran. Keep propping them up with trillions in trade every year though stupid republicans.

    • Terri Barrow

Bill Clinton gave NK nuke capabilities!

      • through most favored nation trading status. His wife, mother of Chelsea Hubble didn’t sell uranium to Russia, she sold it to China. Look up who owns uranium 1- Australian mining co. Look up who owns Australian mining co and voila!

Another good speech that goes no where. Been hearing the same BS from each administration, only in different words with different methods of “winning”.
PLEASE, for the love of God, freakin send ALL troops to stomp these pathetic ISIS, Taliban, mooslime turds into the dust of history.
Do it without remorse, without political BS, without libtards stopping you, without Hollywood stopping you, without any of the BS that keeps us from WINNING and ENDING this BS we are dealing with.

IF IT IS A WAR, THEN END THE DANG THING USING THE BEST FREAKING MILITARY THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN.!!!!!!! STOP FIDDLE PUCKING AROUND WITH IT.

  • Someone else will just take his place.

I find Tillerson’s statement regarding the Taliban to be nothing but bluff and bluster. The Taliban is but one face of Islam, and Islam is the true enemy of Western civilization in general and these United States in specific.

Ironically, the progressive “liberals” (actually ignorant fascists, or “useful idiots” in the words of Alinsky) are advancing the cause of Islam in the Western world. Their positions on Islam and attempts to suppress free speech by the use of violence are just two examples which are indicative of either mass idiocy or mass insanity.

Islam is counter to every value the so-called “liberals” profess to hold dear. Multiculturalism is an ideology of fools, as only one culture will prevail – and that culture is always the more aggressive and less tolerant one.

The Islamists will eventually conquer the West by colonization and expansion via much higher birth rates than the indigenous populations.

So, Tillerson, here’s your sign: “IGNORANT FOOL”

  • Lawmadsen

Remember how before America had any conflict whatsoever with the Taliban, the Taliban was running around their countries blowing up huge historical artistic monuments, Buddha’s carved into mountainsides that were thousands of years old? They then went on to blow up other historical artifacts and archaeological sites rich in fossils so that there would be nothing to offend islam.
People assume that Afghanistan has been a backwards nomad outpost for thousands of years but in the 60’s/70’s Afghanistan was very modern, women walked around in skirts, wore makeup and it was a popular tourist destination.
I bring this up because we are seeing the American Taliban in the streets today, demanding we abolish our freedoms, saying America was never great, destroying our historical monuments because they aren’t in lockstep with their ideology. The idea that a culture as great as our could fall seems preposterous but it didn’t take but a generation for Afghanistan to revert back to as if they were living in the dark ages.

  • Perscival

The crooked Afghan government leaders thank you. (as they put American $ into their Swiss bank accounts) No one has ever conquered Afghan tribesmen.(Taliban) — If they act up – just bomb the heck out of em`.

  • nullSteph

The full quote has him saying the U.S. will not win but neither will the Taliban. Our goal is appeasment! This guy’s the worse lib-tard yet.

  • Sui-Juris

Maybe the Taliban are as willing to stop their aggression as North Korea is, for a sizeable injection of hard currency? 🙂

  • ken

I believe that’s what bush and odummy said and there still there just get out and let the afgans do there own dirty work for a change

  • Scott Henke

Read “Defeating Jihad” by Dr. Sebastian Gorka.

    • Michael Le Longe

Why read a lengthy book when I can condense the only truly effective solution into three bullet points:

      1. Destroy every mosque.
      2. Outlaw the Qur’an.
      3. Execute every devout follower of Islam, beginning with the imams and muftis.

If you aren’t willing to take that approach, then there is no chance of defeating the militant political ideology of Islam. The forced conversion or eradication of non-Moslems has been the approach the Islamists have long been using, and it has proven very effective.

We’ve been trying to fight fire with water for too long and have produced nothing but hot air.
