The Supreme Court hands down a unanimous decision on the release of confidential documents related to the DACA program.
The decision comes nearly two weeks after the justices blocked a lower court ruling requiring the federal government to turn over additional documents on the program’s termination.
In an opinion released Wednesday, the high court said the government could not be compelled to release documents it deems privileged without being given the opportunity to argue the issue.
The ruling is intended to provide guidelines for lower courts currently grappling with the legality of the executive order.
This comes as Congress faces pressure to find a permanent fix to DACA.
