South Korea hopes a visit by a top U.N. official to North Korea could curb the rogue regime’s nuclear ambition.

The U.N. Chief of Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman is set to arrive in Pyongyang Tuesday for several days of talks.

This after South Korea’s foreign ministry said North Korea should voluntarily denuclearize.

Meanwhile, Seoul and the U.S continue joint aerial drills in response to Pyongyang’s most recent ballistic missile test.

Feltman is set to meet with North Korea’s foreign minister and members of the U.N. country team.

“Mr. Feltman will discuss with DPRK officials issues of mutual interest and concern,” confirmed Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for the office of the U.N. Secretary General. “The visit is a response to a long-standing invitation from the authorities in Pyongyang for policy dialogue with the U.N.”

South Korea also expressed hope the U.N. could persuade North Korea to stop its nuclear and ballistic missile provocations in the near term.

For the love of Mike, please tell me this is not mad Kim’s attempt to trade his ‘nukes’ for a seat at the UN table.

Not only a waste of time, it shows the ignorance of the UN. The only thing the little fat kid will understand is a 9mm shot between his eyes.
