A new report claims Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is advising the Department of Homeland Security to terminate the Temporary Protected Status for Haitians and Central Americans living in the U.S.
The report, published on Saturday, claims more than three hundred thousand Haitians and Central Americans living in the country could be sent back to their homes.
The recommendation was made after deeming their homes are safe for return after natural disasters wrecked their homesteads earlier this year.
The Trump administration extended the protection in May, but warned recipients to be prepared to leave the country in case the program does not continue.
The Department is expected to make a formal decision by Monday.
