House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi passed the eight hour mark on a speech against the House spending bill, setting a record in the chamber for longest continuous speech since 1909.
Wednesday’s speech was in support of a permanent solution for DACA recipients.
During the grandstand, the Democrat read letters from so-called “Dreamers” about how the Obama-era overreach helped them get an education and jobs.
pelosi previously said she had no intentions of yielding the floor.
This comes after President Trump said earlier this week that Pelosi’s antics would end up helping Republicans and not Democrats.
The president has called for a DACA fix to be included along with an immigration package, which includes funding for the wall and an end to chain migration as well as the visa lottery system
