President Trump called for unity during the 66th Annual National Prayer Breakfast.
Early Thursday morning, the president was joined by leaders from around the world and some congressional lawmakers, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.
During his address, President Trump said America is a nation of believers, adding this country was built by men who died fighting for religious freedom.
He then claimed the rights of the people are handed down by our creator, and faith is sacred in the fight for unity.
The president is set to return to the oval office for a meeting with Defense Secretary James Mattis before having lunch with Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin.
He will end his day with a sit-down with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
