President Trump is calling on Japanese automakers to build more vehicles here in the U.S.

During an event with Japanese business executives Sunday, the president urged members of the car industry to build their vehicles in the U.S. instead of merely shipping them over.

Back in August, Mazda and Toyota announced they would be investing nearly two billion dollars to start new manufacturing plants in the U.S., which would create nearly 4,000 jobs.

The president added, during his trip to Japan he and his Japanese counterpart would also be discussing changes to trade practices.

“I have to say that for the last many decades, Japan has been winning and you do know that,” the president said.

    They already do though….

    GODSPEED PRESIDENT DONALD J TRUMP!

I love my NISSAN made in Tennessee.
Toyota could build some stuff but cali chased them out and South of the border 10 years ago along with 90% of the manufacturing business in that state.

The South is becoming the new automotive heartland of America. Honda also has a manufacturing plant in Alabama. The workers are paid well without the bloat of the UAW and the cost that adds to each vehicle.

President Trump, out there stooping to world leaders and apologising for being American… oh wait, wrong president. LOLOL

  • uncommon sense

Clearly OAN doesn’t want to point out that the orange oaf doesn’t know that Japanese cars have been manufactured in the US already for a long time.

Just leave that bit out, so Trump can claim credit for the factories that are already here.

    Shills.

WOW!!! Way to fabricate a complete fiction to get your Trump hate on. ROTFLMAO

cough, “President Trump is calling on Japanese automakers to build more vehicles here in the U.S.”, cough.

This was his actual quote…Trump said, “Several Japanese automobile industry firms have been really doing a job. And we love it when you build cars — if you’re a Japanese firm, we love it — try building your cars in the United States instead of shipping them over. Is that possible to ask? That’s not rude. Is that rude? I don’t think so.”

        • Lorie Barnett

He clearly didn’t say “more cars”. You really can’t trust the info you get from this site.

      • Lorie Barnett

Yeah, that was the headline of the oan article but that is not what he said.

    The shakeup continues

Keep up the great job Mr. President! 🇺🇸 President Obama would have been apologizing to Abe for dropping atomic bombs in WW2.

    • Floridastorm

On one of his trips to Japan Odumbo did just that, apologized for using nuclear weapons on Japan. He not only said the US was sorry, he actually said the US was wrong. I wonder when Japan apologized for Pearl Harbor and the hundreds of thousands of US military deaths due to the Japanese military?

      • Varangian Guard

In Japanese textbooks the events never took place……………..just like everything good during “0’s” reign, it never happened.

      • CDG

I remember Obama catching crap for “bowing” to the Prime Minister during his first trip. Didn’t know he apologized too. Total ignorance. Hundreds of thousands of troops and Japanese civilians would have been killed and wounded during an invasion of the Japanese home land. While terrible, the 2 atomic bombs actually saved lives and drastically shortened the war.

    • a voice of concern

Obama already did that a year ago, He blamed it on religious fanatics.
