President Trump bashes his former chief strategist Steve Bannon after the Breitbart chairman made damaging statements about the president.

In an official White House statement Wednesday, President Trump said Bannon lost his job and then lost his mind.

He said Bannon was fully responsible for the Senate loss in Alabama, adding he does not represent his base and he’s only in it for himself.

The president said Bannon leaked White House intel to make himself seem more important than he was.

Bannon criticized the president, his family, and the Russia probe during interviews for a new book.

President Trump’s full statement can be read below:

  • Tango Uniform

Hey Steve! Whatcha got on? Your mind?

  • Lenny Woodson

This country is where it is today because Obama led it to where it is for the previous eight years. If you could call that ‘leading’ – something he was not very inept at.

  • SaidNO2Liberalism

President Trump and Mr Bannon need to set aside their differences and end this dust up immediately. The real enemies are democrats and their strategy of divide and conquer should not distract our country from achieving greatness.

  • nfcapitalist

Anyone here notice the story of the Century released today or is this the shiny object that attracts attention?

50 Terabytes of NSA information was discovered in a security contractors home, he’s pleading guilty on the 22nd… sorry to interrupt your fun but thought you should WAKE UP AND PXXX BECAUSE AMERICA IS ON FIRE!

  • Clinicaleducator1

You CAN’T attack IVANKA and expect that the POTUS won’t get rid of you. THIS is NOT politics. It’s family!! Wake the hell up Bannon.

  • Scotty

Trumpanzees? You’re a TDS infected troll, and your on the wrong site. You’re blocked, asswipe.

  • patsat

OAN is an excellent source for accurate news.

  • Scotty

You think you can do better? You’re obviously a troll.

  • Scotty

Everytime he opens his mouth, the lunatic left press trashes him. He’s learned not to trust them.

  • Scotty

Looks like ol’ Stevie stepped in it big time.

  • iwontell

Now now boys – there’s more CRAP in the MEDIA than to pick on each other..

  • Victor

Fired loser seeks revenge with poorly authored book of allegations. End of story .

    • internettoughguy

      Wolff has tapes.

  • Brad

At times it is better to remain silent and I support our President But i would like to see him exercise a little more discretion when he makes comments regarding former staff member.

  • egclark

So, I’m expected to believe that Steve Bannon made these comments to a liberal ex NYtimes copy boy, Michael Wolffe. Michael Wolffe has admitted on more than one occasion to be false, and invents unsubstantiated events. Bannon wasn’t even part of the team when the “treason” meeting with the ruskie lawyer took place. I do know the hot water has been turned up on Clinton, so I expected something.

  • DCBlueBlood

Heir Drumpf attorneys just sent Bannon a Cease and Desist Letter to STOP Making him or his … Sniffle Sniffle … family the but of his jokes.

    Sniff Sniff — Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Trump is so thin Skinned — Public Figures have no Liable recourse. Bannon just outsmarted Trump again.

Trump is crying in the corner again. LMAO!

  • Rufus Firefly

Trump should know about losing one’s mind.

  • SaidNO2Liberalism

The LSM, aka MSM, is salivating over a quote that was fabricated by an author with a lot of credibility issues while the stock market continues to make records. I am going to enjoy my bourbon tonight.

  • JC

I stand with Bannon. Trump is now part of the swamp… who’s getting ready to impeach him now that his base is split. Trump can be really stupid sometimes.

  • PatrickJ

We’ll see where this goes. I’m not convinced just yet.

  • 2EdgedSword

Bannon’s sensitive button on Catholic matters alerted me the first time it was pushed. Rome has an anti-American agenda. I believe Bannon to be a critical chess piece in Rome’s plan. Rome and Bannon are bad for America. Their subversion is readily identifiable. I’ve already blocked one Jesuit on this thread. It was to be expected they would come hunting here as they do on all media.

  • nfcapitalist

Steve Bannon, you lost me buddy… I think you said when you left the Whitehouse you were President Trump’s biggest supporter and now you either aren’t drinking enough or too much… get a grip.

  • …remain calm and return fire

A little tiff. Trump and Bannon are on the same mission….save America from the leftist swine. They’ll work it out.

  • Gail

Always thought Bannon was an alcoholic. He has a booze nose all the time.

    • PatrickJ

That’s a cheap shot actually. I never saw him slur a word in his comments. Back off the alcohol thing.

      • Gail

I stand by my opinion which I am entitled too that Bannon is an alcoholic. He doesn’t have to slur words to be a functional alcoholic.

  • KD

well the news reports that many quotes in the book are lies……..so it sounds like more fake news /book to make the quick $$$………….I’m sure demwits will buy it…..LOL

  • KD

I’d bet he’s trying to get his share of $$$…….he looks like a drunk……

I could care less what he’s got to say…………….Trump all the way to 2020!!

    • JC

Trump just split his base. Now they’ll impeach him without his base there to back him up…. just what the establishment wanted all along… including the RINOs like McConnell & Ryan. Forget 2020.

      • Jenny O

I understand your….uh, concern?? Time will tell about his base, but The Swamp truly cannot be trusted.

  • Transpare

Poor Bannon, going downhill like a freshly waxed toboggan.

  • Jesse

I can’t wait until all the haters of Steve Bannon at MSNBC and CNN turn to using Steve Bannon against Trump. The liberal base must be so confused. 1 day we hate the guy and everything he says is a lie but the next day when it suits them he’s a valid source of info and his talking points now count all of a sudden?

  • PatrickJ

If it’s ok with the rest of you, I’m going to hold my cards close for the time being. Something about this just doesn’t feel right to me. Steve Bannon achieved the highest levels in our nation’s government that any outsider is likely to reach in these times. He was in the White House and had the ear of our President.

His departure was a surprise to me, maybe to some of you, too. Having said that, we never knew the details of what happened, to cause a man in his position, close to the President as he was, to be shown the door.

Perhaps the whole story will come out someday in the future. In the meantime, I will support President Trump in his decision, and at the same time, I will give respect to Steve Bannon for his fighting personality and his belief in the greatness of this place we call, America.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray met with Speaker Paul Ryan on Wednesday about the House Russia investigation, a GOP aide confirmed.

Rosenstein, escorted by his security detail, walked by a number of reporters who were staking out budget negotiations between top White House officials and top congressional leaders.

The meeting in the Speaker’s office came at the request of Rosenstein and Wray, the aide said.

“Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein and FBI Director Wray asked to meet with the speaker and we accommodated the request,” Ryan spokeswoman AshLee Strong said in an email. “I’d refer you to their offices for anything further.”

No other information about the meeting and what was discussed was immediately made known.

    —- Hopefully It’s About Impeachment!

  • eladtoor

The Donald can identify with Steve.

    Same thing happened to him.

  • Lenny Woodson

One thing I knew for sure when Trump was elected,,,,,, this is gonna be a fun at least 4 years, and I was right.

  • charliehorsescout

Bannon appears like, and acts like a burned out old boozer. He needs to keep his act at BB and nowhere else.

  • 2EdgedSword

I found Bannon to be an abrasive alcoholic. His arrogance is typical of a long term alcoholic. I suspect he is working with Jesuits or is one himself. I have no academic respect for Breitbart.

    • DCBlueBlood

      Revenge Truth can be nasty!

  • DCBlueBlood

Former WH Council Richard Painter …

… I think the game’s up here for President Trump. Steve Bannon was an insider in the Trump campaign, and inside the White House, all the way through last August. And he knows what’s going on. He has the facts, because he’s been in on the meetings with all these people. He may not have been at the Trump Tower meeting but I would be shocked if he didn’t have knowledge of that before the public did. And he also has knowledge about the inside facts about what’s going on. He is a material witness, and he may have been part of this treason, but for whatever reason he’s now disclosing what he knows, at least in generalities, and acknowledging that it was treasonous.

It’s not something we have to prosecute under the treason provisions of the Constitution. There are plenty of ways of dealing with treasonous behavior and Robert Mueller is on top of it. And it may very well involve money laundering. And that’s what Robert Mueller is going to find out. But this Russia investigation is real, and I’ve been a Republican for 30 years, I would like to support Republicans, but I am not going to support any Republican who refuses to acknowledge that we have a serious problem on our hands.

    • Jesse

Lol a week ago you would be calling Bannon a lying racist etc. Now all of a sudden he’s your “Trump” card.

Steve Bannon: ‘They’re Going To Crack Don Junior Like An Egg On National TV’ Can’t Wait!

    • CW Cressler

Don’t hold your breath! That’s just a suggestion, you go right ahead… Can I watch?

  • DCBlueBlood

Colorful quotes from Steven Bannon in “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” to be released next week. Excerpted in The Guardian:

He is particularly scathing about a June 2016 meeting involving Trump’s son Donald Jr, son-in-law Jared Kushner, then campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya at Trump Tower in New York. A trusted intermediary had promised documents that would “incriminate” rival Hillary Clinton but instead of alerting the FBI to a potential assault on American democracy by a foreign power, Trump Jr replied in an email: “I love it.”

The meeting was revealed by the New York Times in July last year, prompting Trump Jr to say no consequential material was produced. Soon after, Wolff writes, Bannon remarked mockingly: “The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor – with no lawyers. They didn’t have any lawyers.

“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad $h!t, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately.”

Bannon went on, Wolff writes, to say that if any such meeting had to take place, it should have been set up “in a Holiday Inn in Manchester, New Hampshire, with your lawyers who meet with these people”. Any information, he said, could then be “dump[ed] … down to Breitbart or something like that, or maybe some other more legitimate publication”.

Bannon added: “You never see it, you never know it, because you don’t need to … But that’s the brain trust that they had.”

    • CW Cressler

Yeah. Of course, they didn’t meet with the Russian government and Bannon wasn’t there, but that just spoils the false narrative, doesn’t it? Sorry for interrupting, you go right ahead.

  • Roy Beane

    WOW.

  • JJCaro

All anyone needs to know is that President Trump fired Steve Bannon for SOME reason. We never know the reason at the outset, but we learn it in the long run because President Trump is open and free with his motives AND intentions. Everyone makes mistakes. President Trump has had to hire hundreds if not thousands of people when he was suddenly faced with the biggest and most important job in the world – President of the United States of America. Some of those people are sure to be carrying around baggage not immediately apparent. So, when he finds out who the not-so-well-chosen hires are, he does the right and proper thing. He fires them and replaces them with someone better. In THAT way Americans are getting a damned good government working for us under the greatest American President in U.S. history.

    • Lenny Woodson

      Nicely voiced Mr JJC

    • Arcanumone

      Second best-Reagan reigns supreme.

    • Arcanumone

Superb comment, although in MHO, Trump is second best-Reagan reigns supreme.

      • PatrickJ

But Reagan is dead. I continue to worship the man more than anyone out there. But we have to deal with the reality that we are facing right now. Trump is our President, and as far as I can figure, he’s doing a pretty much bang up job. But then again, that’s just me.

        • HarryObrian

You’re pretty much on point. I sometimes look at it this way, as long as the anti-American libs are crying about something then President Trump is doing something good for America. He may not be acting fast enough or in the direction many want but again, as long as the anti-Americans are unhappy then something is right in the world.

        • Arcanumone

          No he isn’t.

    • town22

Very well written, thanks JJCaro for your input.

    • ReevaDiva

      Well said

  • Bannon was never on the Trump train. BB’s headlines proved it time after time. A lot of us left knowing what was really going on. Now everyone should know.

    • tedlv

      Hi Ginette!

      • Justin Thyme

        Hi Ted!!

      • Hey Ted!!!!

    • DCBlueBlood

Breitfart — Almost Beats FOX News for Fake News!

      • JC

Do your research. Breitbart has one of the least amount of retractions as ones reporting the news… not making it up. Fox is the RINO news station… which is no different than any other liberal news outlet since they are all playing for the same team.

        • Jenny O

I don’t like BB. To me, it’s too tabloid.

        • Where were you when every headline was anti-Trump? You weren’t there with the rest of us regulars. We all saw it. And, that was happening while Bannon was in the WH.

    • JC

BS! Bannon has ALWAYS been about American 1st. Too many facts to back that up.

  • LuciusAnnaeusSeneca

Interesting. I agree there is a lot more going on below the surface than we can see now. Someone here suggests a hit job on Bannon. Could indeed be one, perhaps gone wrong.

At any rate, the media, and especially the establishment (“legacy” or “mainstream”) media, is abuzz, and has flocked to this story as quickly and surely as flies to a dungpile. It hasn’t had such an orgaistic fervor since at least last month’s Alabama election. And were they to glom all over this were about two other celebrities, it would be attacked and smeared as “fake news”.

The rare part in all this is who the media catamites of the left will choose to believe. Trump? Bannon? They fear and detest both. And they know that each would not, and would not want, to overthrow the other. And whose side will the mercenary scribblers take? It would be unbearable to them in any other time to even begin to analyze so closely what either Trump or Bannon said. After all, they are usually in the habit of merely dismissing it.

Perhaps this is a news story that will tell us more about the establishment media than about either Trump or Bannon.

  • DCBlueBlood

If it’s found out that Bannon is correct and Don Jr. and Donald Trump DID Collude and Get Specific Help from the Russians to get Trump Elected … What’s the Penalty? Impeachment YES.

For Treason – Do they still Hang in Public Traitors or do the Shoot them in a Firing Squad?

    • CW Cressler

That’s the spirit! The man who has no idea what treason is or the penalty for it speaks for the rest of us!

  • Erica Merovich

Bannon seems to me to be an opportunist, but not a very smart one. Biting the hand that fed you, is never a good idea.

    • DCBlueBlood

Too late. He’s helping Mueller’s case.

  • DCBlueBlood

Bannon Just Stuck Don Jr.’s Head on a pike and is brandishing it in front of Daddy Trump!

Steve Bannon suggested President Donald Trump was aware of Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with Russian operatives at Trump Tower in June 2016 ― because he met with them that day, too, according to an explosive new book by acclaimed journalist Michael Wolff.

The former White House strategist was quoted by Wolff as saying there was “zero” chance Trump Jr. didn’t walk the Russian meeting attendees “up to his father’s office on the 26th floor.”

Oooooh I Like This Fight CrAzY v. CrAzY!

He’s saying our President is a Traitor! Yup He Is! Trump is a Russian Traitor.

    • CW Cressler

If Bannon says so– even though he’s wrong about “the Russian government”, he wasn’t at the meeting, and has no idea whatsoever if Trump met them– let’s kill ’em all, anyway, because whatisname BoozeBlood says so! Victory for pussyhats and rainbow-farting unicorns everywhere!

      • Jesse

Haven’t you heard? All the libs love the “lying” “racist” “pedophile supporting” Bannon now. He’s their last gasp before they have none left.

  • Gnome Sane?

The whole thing is extremely fishy. I think it would be extremely unwise to pass judgement until such time that the facts have been substantiated.

    • CW Cressler

Where’s the fun and spin in that? Quick, before the facts come out and spoil everything!

    • PatrickJ

I’m with you, Gnome Sane. Something smells here.

  • Lovingit

I closed the BB tab in my browser window permanently today, but I kind of wish I had waited to read the comments there. However, I said I was done with them, so I am. I can comment here instead.

    • Hey!!!

      • Lovingit

Hello! Hoped I’d meet you here.

        • I pop in every so often.

          • Lovingit

Me, too, since you told me about it.

          • LOL! Great!

  • J. Waltam

Time for Stevie to button up his leathers, mount his Harley Hog, and head back to CA.

  • jjmucr

Bannon acts like a lover scorned.

  • texaspug

if you listen to Breitbart, Bannon has done NOTHING but support Trump…

and to say Bannon had NO part in his win… that is NOT true either

    Trump is up to something

I’d wait to hear from Steve

    • DCBlueBlood

Steve is just helping the FBI and Mueller’s case.

Trump is trying to destroy the FBI because the Bureau had someone on the inside of the Trump campaign telling them about the Trump/Russia relationship. Trump is at war with the Justice Department and Special Counsel Robert Mueller because they know a lot more about the Russia scandal than anyone in the public realized. It turns out that the FBI wasn’t starting from scratch. They have had sources of information, including one inside the Trump campaign for about a year and a half.

It is looking more and more like the FBI has got Trump or people very close to him. If this is true, it would explain a great deal about Trump’s behavior and why he is at war with his own Justice Department.

Donald Trump may already be caught.

      • CW Cressler

Sure, sure, sure– see? This is why Hillary won… Wait a second…

      • Jenny O

You are seriously deluded….but, then….you ARE a liberal, after all.

    • JJCaro

You have already heard from Steve. What we now know is that Bannon was the one leaking in the WH. When Gen. Kelly was hired, Bannon was fired. This last explanation says it all. Of course the WH was manned with some who did NOT have the MAGA agenda at heart. It now appears Bannon was in it for himself and NOT for us. That’s good enough for us.

      • Roy Beane

A clash between the old hippy and a marine general. Epic.

      • texaspug

you are sooooo wrong / I will wait for Steve

        • Justin Thyme

No need to wait for Bannon. He’s a proven liar.

          • texaspug

nah, it’s not like Trump is a truth teller, I like to wait for BOTH side before I make any judgements

          • Justin Thyme

            Suit yourself.

      • ComradeAdam

At the time Bannon said he left because he felt more effective on the outside and was going to war for Trump from the outside

    • ComradeAdam

Trump attacked Bannon after Bannon attacked Kushner. That might be all there is to it. Kushner has very few fans on the right, but Trump is loyal to his family.
But, yes, it feels like something is going on in the background. Bannon supports Trump and has repeatedly said there is no Trump Russia connection, that Kushner’s meeting with Russians was normal and legal. For Bannon to suddenly to come out and call these meetings ‘treasonous’ is absurd. It’s almost as if he’s trying to lure the deep State into working with him. Maybe a sting op?

  • arthur facteau

Honestly don’t know if the comments at the bottom are really from Trump, but have seen several stories concerning what Bannon said in his book, and from looking at that, it seems a lot like a hit job. He sounds pissed about something, maybe losing his job, maybe some other personal shyte, but still looks like he is trying his best to give the other side ammo, even if it is based on BS…the stuff he was saying in the excerpts from the book seemed like he was trying to make treason accusations, which have already been disproven, and nothing illegal was proven to have been done. Seems like he is embellishing on this is an attempt at some revenge for something. What can you say, though, petty people do petty things.

    • JC

It’s not Bannon’s book. It’s some Wolf guy’s book… one his who’s been proven VERY inaccurate in the past.

  • landy fincannon

Is the acrimony more of a deflection or a distraction?

Is Donald trying distance himself from Bannon with the midterms coming up?

If we’ve learned nothing else, we know that everything is planned. Even rancor.

    • CW Cressler

I’m sure having his kid accused of a death penalty offense meant nothing.

  • Heddrick Steel

    I can’t prove that’s from the president

    • Justin Thyme

We will soon find out if it is or not.

  • DedFish

hmmm, I ‘m still confused about Bannon. What happened to him in the White House? Was he a leaker?

    • Varangian Guard

He’s a smart guy but an opportunist. His time in the military indicates he went the path of exposure. Surface warfare to pentagon wonk, then private sector.
He is in it first for the $$, then an agenda if it is also profitable…..

      • Justin Thyme

He sure doesn’t seem very smart to me.

      • SWSapphire

And one way to get more $$ is to write a book about Trump… which I would expect buyers to be, for the most part, libs, as it’s a negative book – right up their alley.
Part of Trump’s statement, re He lost his job, now he’s lost his mind… brings to mind a song from the past – the only one I can think of at the moment is ‘Copacobana’ … Lola, she was a show girl… now she’s lost her mind LOL

    • Lovingit

That’s what they’re saying. He leaked to the media and got canned for it.

    • All American

Well let’s put it this way so far Bannon has not helped the base.
      He hasn’t helped our President.
      He should stick to Breitbart👍🏻

    • JC

No, Bannon was not the leaker. Priebus & wiretaps were… All this soap opera drama is coming from McConnell & Karl Rove to snuff out Bannon’s influence this November.

McCOnnell had to resort to false accusations & voter fraud to steal the AL senate seat from Bannon’s backed candidate, Moore. Now Trump is even in on covering up McConnell’s voter fraud by doing away with his voter fraud committee

McConnell, Javanka, & the like are giving Trump misleading info, so he’s making bad decisions. Plus, he’s pure out stabbing his supporters in the back… like giving amnesty to DACA… the very thing he said he’d NEVER do.

Bottom line, Bannon vowed to unseat incumbents derailing Trump’s agenda & replace them with true patriots who get the job done. The RINOs are scared of Bannon’s influence. They were able to team up with the dems to knock out Bannon’s candidate in one state, but there’s no way they’d be able to do so with all the different states this November. THAT’s what all this drama is really about.

    • MJABRTDK

Bannon was a leaker so Trump fired him. Trump tried to be a nice guy and give Bannon public comments of a job well done when Bannon announced he was ” leaving “. Now Bannon repays Trump with insults …
