Poll: Majority Of Americans Prefer Seasonal Greeting ‘Merry Christmas’

President Trump’s mission to end the war on Christmas is proving to be favorable among Americans, as a new poll reveals more than half support using the seasonal greeting “Merry Christmas”.

According to the survey, 65% of Americans are most likely to greet others with Merry Christmas compared to only 28% who prefer to say “Happy Holidays.”

And among supporters of President Trump the support for “Merry Christmas” is even stronger.

The poll found 86% of President Trump’s supporters ‘are most likely’ to use the traditional greeting.

This come as the President has been a strong advocate for the use of the phrase.

  • Rexlion

I prefer to say, “Enjoy Jesus’ Birthday!”

    • WSWSapphire

I like that! Along w/Merry Christmas! and Happy Birthday, Jesus!

  • Mark Steiner

Good! I’m glad to see that people are going back to saying Merry Christmas. I certainly won’t let any socialist PC tell me what I can’t say.

  • Pat S.

If you want to erase Christmas in your greeting then it would stand to reason that you should not celebrate December 25th. This holiday celebrates the birth of Christ to use it for something else is hypocritical at best.

  • iwontell

Merry Christmas is the ONLY THING I SAY……….screw the “holiday” BS…….

  • Tom Brown

I have always said Merry Christmas and in recent yeard hope I torque a PC freak in the process.

  • sanman99

    • WSWSapphire

That’s how we often say it in TX when addressing several people at a time. And
“A belated Merry Christmas to you, and to all y’all who are family & friends of sanman99!”

  • PatrickJ

We are at present in this most glorious time we call, “Christmas.” It affects some of us deeply. Others, not so much. Each to his own, I guess. But to me, it’s a special time.

  • Frank

Who knew? The 28% are dictating policy to the 65%…(Just what we have been screaming for years). STOP the minority rule!! Minorities have three choices, not four. Assimilate, migrate, or segregate…But, NOT DICTATE!

  • C B

    Merry Christmas MAGA !

  • Bogeygolfer

Those who refuse to say Merry Christmas are examples of people appropriating someone else’s religious holiday for their own purpose. Shows nothing but selfishness and intolerance.

  • Warp Speed

This is what happens when a muslim president leaves office and the Christian persecution stops.

  • PatrickJ

Getting late here in Paradise. An evening to remember. God love this President. God love those of us who believe in him and what he is trying to do. God love this thing we continue to call, “America.” In the eyes of our Founders, it was nothing but a dream. But by the grace of God, it remains today as the absolute bastion of freedom that the entire world looks at as the example of what freedom really means.

As a nation, we are certainly blessed. No real question of that. Most recently, we are blessed by a President who believes in the exact same thing. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

  • ShemSilber2

On the one hand, there are an awful lot of sincere people who celebrate Christmas as if it were the Master Yahusha’s (Lord Jesus’) birthday, and it’s great that their feeling are no longer being squashed as vigorously as the lefties would like to have done, and that is definitely a step in the right direction.

On the other hand, there is a minority of us who believe it would be more fitting even for Christians to celebrate Hanukkah, since the Master Yahusha did have something to do with Hanukkah, both before He descended from the heavens to dwell among us and while He was here in His flesh. Before He came, He saw and allowed the regime of Antiochus Ephiphanes to defile the Temple, which was a wake-up call to His people Judah to get back to the Torah that they were going astray from, and then He stirred the Maccabees to restore the Temple and to save His people alive, so that He would have both the people by whom He would enter this world and the Temple in which He taught. John 10:22 even says He was in the Temple teaching during Hanukkah (‘dedication,’ says the KJV, and ‘חנכה’ [‘Hanukkah’], says the Hebrew New Testament).

May our Master Yahusha guide and strengthen us through these Dark Ages and take us on into His eternal Age to Come, when we shall finally have peace on earth and government that if truly FOR the people, amein.

    • PatrickJ

I have a jewish grandson. He lights up my life. I support the Jewish people in their fight. To me, we are all the same people. If there are those out there among us to want to create a divide between Jews and Christians in this day and age, you go right ahead. Do your best, but I’m not listening to you. I support the country of Israel.

      • ShemSilber2

So who’s doing the dividing? As of now, thanks to the interference from Azazel, the devil, a.k.a. Allah the false god of Islam, the complaint of our Master Yahusha (Lord Jesus), per Psalm 22:14 is, “…all My bones are out of joint…” That refers to His condition as He hung there crucified, yes, but it also refers to His people Israel being scattered all over the earth and in all sorts of different belief systems. A few are Jewish, but most are from the House of Ephraim, who are many of them in Christian churches, in synagogues, and even some of them trapped in Islam.

We will not be unified until we are all unified with the Master Yahusha, as Ezekiel 37 says we will be, when the Master fulfills the prophecy of those two sticks that became one in Ezekiel’s hand. He will restore our identity as Israel, and we will be going home to the Promised Land by the hundreds of millions, maybe even a billion or two. This will culminate in the return of the Master to finish the work of total restoration (Acts 3:21), and then all this division that the evil one has caused will be completely GONE, and the Kingdom of United Israel will be the final and eternal world-ruling government, under the Master Yahusha, that is truly FOR the people being unified, no longer divided at all, but ONE in the Presence of our Master Yahusha, amein and amein.

      • ShemSilber2

It just occurred to me what I didn’t say when I posted about an hour ago, Brother Patrick: We ARE the same people! We are all Israel, for they are Jewish Israel, and we are not gentiles, but from the 10 tribes of the north, and together, the Jewish people and us, we number in the billions, going by Genesis 24:60 and Deuteronomy 1:10-11 and a little math, for a thousand times millions makes billions. Therefore there are at least 3 1/2 to 5 billion or more of the children of Israel in the world today, of whom hundreds of millions, maybe a billion or two, will make it home in the Exodus from the nations that is mentioned in Jeremiah 16:14-21.

The vast majority of Judah and virtually all of Ephraim have lost their identity as Israel through disconnection from the Torah and absence from the Promised Land for almost 3,000 years now, but the Master Yahusha (Lord Jesus) will restore our identity through a reconnection both to the Torah and to the Land, and finally we will be home free once again, in the Presence of the Chief Zionist, the Captain of our Faith, our Hight Priest and King for endless ages, the Master Yahusha, amein and amein!

        • PatrickJ

Like it or not, our bloodlines all trace back to the beginning of time. To creation even. In the end, we are all part of God’s work in the beginning.

        • PatrickJ

          God bless you.

          • ShemSilber2

And you, too, Brother Patrick, in the Master’s Name, amein.

  • PatrickJ

It is good to see this President and his beautiful wife in his resort in Florida, talking to children about Christmas and Santa Clause. Silly, I know. But not to those kids who got to talk to the President. Because to them, that is simply something they will remember for the rest of their lives. If you really are a good American, this is just good stuff. If you are not, that’s not really my problem.

    • WSWSapphire

I posted similar before seeing your post here. What a memory! For now, they’ll likely remember it for Santa Claus. Then later realize when they’re older with even more excitement, that they were speaking w/either Pres. or First Lady Melania Trump while helping them track Santa.

Two years ago anyone who dared say “Merry Christmas” was ignored, shamed, or attacked.

Christians and our beliefs were under attack from day 1 during the BO administration.

I always said Merry Christmas, those who have a problem with it are haters with a political agenda. And, those who worship hatred and violence should know I don’t back down or apologize for what I believe in.

It’s ok to say Merry Christmas again! Yay! The Muslim is out of the Whitehouse.

    • Bill

It was always ok to say it. I never blinked or flinched. 😎

  • Twas the night before Christmas 2017 Version

Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house
not a Clinton was stirring not even the louse.
The nooses were hung on the gallows with care
in hopes that Saint Mueller soon would be there.

The Deplorables were nestled all snug in their beds
while visions of tax reform danced in their heads.
Sarah’s done with her briefing and Bannon’s in a cap
they posted for all; its time for a nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
Conyers sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away from the woman he had in his house
Through open the shutters like he tore off her blouse.

The moon on the breast of the innocent aide
Gave light to the Senate’s and Congress charade.
When what to Franken’s wondering eye should appear
But a MAGA sleigh and eight rowdy reindeer.

With a little old driver, so witty and plump
I knew in a moment it must be Ole Trump.
More rapid than “Eagles” his “Courses” they came
And he Tweeted and tweeted, and called them by name

“Now, Ryan! Now Corker! Now, Gowdy and Jordan!
On, Schultzie, On Maxie, On Nancer and Chuckie!
To the top of the Mt Rushmore! To the top of Kate’s Wall!
Now Bash away! Bash away! Bash away all!

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I ran down the stairs, and was turning around
Down the chimney St. Donald came with a bound.

He was dressed all in white , from his head to his foot
And his suit was all tarnished with grasses and soot
A bundle of clubs he had flung on his back
And he looked like a golfer, just opening his sack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a berry!
His hand held his pen so tightly and bold
And the hair on his head was as yellow as gold.

He was Bubbly and Pumped , a right jolly ole elf
And I laugh’d when I saw him in spite of myself
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a lie but went straight to his work
And called them Fake News, he said with a smirk
Closing the Border and Trade Deals he froze
And then giving a nod, up in the Polls he did rose.

He sprung to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle
And away they all flew, like a Fat Mans Missile
But I heard him exclaim, to the Country’s Delight
We say Merry Christmas, now get this just right

Keep Christ in Christmas and have a Good Night.

    • TruthBTold

This is great! Do I have your permission to copy it down and keep it? And a Very Merry Christmas and a MAGA New year !

Is there anything your fellow patriots can do for you ? I live in Texas , but I’m sure that the patriots in PA and Del will do something.

        • WSWSapphire

Maybe if someone with a phone would try leaving a msg. on the President’s line, and Rush’s call-in line. I believe O’Reilly may still have a phone line. The Pres. also receives posted mail, though don’t know how long it takes to go through – might help if the enveloped stated it was Christmas greetings. (I was given instructions to write in large lettering on the outside of my package containing visa application for UK to the place in NY that processes them.) If I can find the number for the President’s line, I’ll post it here(maybe someone can call on your behalf… or lots of people – that might help more).
Thank you very much for the poem. I read it aloud for my UK husband a few days ago. We love it!

          • WSWSapphire

The phone no. is to the White House comment line. It’s from Rep. Herman Cain’s website, who encouraged everyone last May, on his website & an appearance on Hannity, to call & leave a comment to let the Pres. know you have his back.
I don’t know how much time are allowed for comments, but maybe someone could start out w/something like: I’d like you to know, Pres. Trump, I have your back. And I’d like to ask if you could please read the e-mail(or poem on oan- give a link, or name of report & poster of both poem & living circumstances… ). A 2nd caller could start out the same, & read the post re P.P.s circumstances. A 3rd could start out the same also, and then read the wonderful poem(if it takes 2 calls to get the poem read, then try again, only remember to read the last half 1st, as calls are usually heard in reverse order).
The number for the Whitehouse comment line (as posted on Herman Cain’s website & several ytube videos in May) is:

          • WSWSapphire

Or, Merry Christmas, President Trump! I have a little poem for you. (Read poem, then tell about the author and if time, add where he can find it on here. If not time, do so in another phone call, referencing the poem recited.)
I would also suggest being specific – ie poster’s profile w/comments in order to bypass trolls.
Some even better ideas from others would be appreciated, I’m sure.

If we recall, it was one of President Trump’s campaign promises to bring back the ability for Americans to say openly “MERRY CHRISTMAS.” And, he is also correct that for years our country, our government and our president have been DEVOID of publicly saying “MERRY CHRISTMAS because it might offend someone else–even though America is a Christian-Judeo nation. President Trump, in fact, removed the shackles of socialistic-like government control–and Americans today are “BEING FREED” to not only simply say “MERRY CHRISTMAS” again–but also have the freedom to do, create, accomplish, succeed, contribute, dream, believe, and have pride and patriotism in our country again. This can only be attributed to President Trump.

  • Frank Meccia

Why, does the news media have to make a big thing out of this. Everybody in the world knows that December 25th is Christmas. In 1870 it was made a National Holiday in the United States. My take is probably a stereotype, if in a store a week before Christmas and the customer has a bunch of gifts and wrapping paper, it’s safe to say Merry Christmas, If it’s earlier in the month, gifts and blue and silver wrapping paper, pretty safe to say Happy Hanuka, If you really don’t know or can’t tell, say Happy Holiday.. We don’t need to make a big deal out of this, Just be polite and give people some type of greeting during the holiday season.

    • nfcapitalist

The progressive obsession to promote atheism and root out any mention or symbol of Christianity with the excuse that it hurt the feelings of minority non Christians… brought this “big thing” to the attention of Constitutional conservatives… so, you’re welcome.

      Well said

I said “Merry Christmas ” to a coworker a few years ago, and she replied, “we don’t say THAT here anymore. I responded, “WE does not tell ME what to say” i got called into the HR Dept for that one. Nothing really came of it, but its just so ridiculous in my opinion.

Saying Merry Christmas is simply a personal greeting. To say, we can’t say Merry Christmas, would be taking away our “rights”. I’m glad nothing came of it. I’m sure the HR department, was fully aware of your rights, they probably called you in, just because they had to, in order to follow the complaint process.

I agree, Very Ridiculous, the fact that this is even a topic of discussion, but it makes me happy that the “tide” is turning and people are saying Merry Christmas & Happy New Year again.

That’s why I retired from the rat race. Rats don’t say Merry Christmas.
