U.S. and Canadian trade representatives are set to meet this week to advance NAFTA negotiations between the two countries.
The announcement by the U.S. trade representative comes one week earlier than previously indicated.
The two countries will meet in Washington on Tuesday to decide how they’ll include the U.S.’s agreement with Mexico into the deal.
The U.S. and Mexico worked out a preliminary agreement last month, but Canada has yet to agree to the terms presented by the u-s.
Canada’s foreign minister credits the delay to the country trying to work out the best terms available.
Representatives from both sides have expressed their preference to keep a NAFTA deal intact.
President Trump has voiced his willingness to create a separate deal than the one made with Mexico.
