An angry mob topples the Confederate Soldiers Monument in Durham, North Carolina in an act of left-wing vandalism.
After tearing down the monument, the crowd marched through downtown Durham and blocked traffic on several streets.
Some protesters picketed the local police station with signs that read — “cops and k-k-k go hand-in-hand.”
The Confederate Soldiers Monument was installed in 1924 in memory of the over 500,000 Americans.
Local authorities have not ruled out a possible restoration of the vandalized statue.
This comes just two days after violent protest lead to the death of one in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Protestors were encouraged to gather in an effort to “smash white supremacy,” according to a Facebook event created to spread the movement.
