A Kurdish official says he is 99% sure Islamic State leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi is still alive.

A counter-terrorism specialist says he received intelligence confirming Baghdadi was not killed by air strikes this month, and is actually somewhere south of Raqqa.

The official says Baghdadi is no stranger to survival.

He refers back to the ISIS commander’s days in Al-Qaeda, saying he knows what he is doing.

The Kurdish specialist added, even if Baghdadi were killed former Saddam Hussein intelligence officers would likely take his place.
