Japan Collecting Intel on North Korea, Guam Responds to Provocation

Japanese officials say the country is collecting intelligence on North Korea’s nuclear program.

The nation plans to closely coordinate with the U.S. and South Korea, urging Pyongyang to comply with the U.N. Security Council resolutions.

One of the specific investigations Japan will be conducting aims to determine the validity of a report that says North Korea has successfully produced a miniature nuclear warhead which can fit inside its missiles.

Officials in Tokyo point to the U.S. as a vital ally amid Pyongyang’s provocation.

As the threat in Pyongyang escalates, Japan is also considering changes to the way it approaches defense.

Meanwhile, the governor of Guam is reassuring his people after North Korea threatens to carry out a missile strike on the U.S. territory.

In an online message Wednesday, Governor Eddie Calvo says he was told by both the DOD and DHS that changing the country’s threat level is unnecessary.

This despite growing threats by North Korea to strike the U.S. via Guam.

Calvo says North Korea’s warning is no threat, and the island is prepared for “any eventuality.”

He says Guam has defenses strategically placed to protect its people.

Pyongyang says it’s “carefully examining” a plan to strike Guam, which is home to about 163,000 people, and a U.S. military base.

I’m glad that I wasn’t born in NK. If given the free opportunity to leave that country how many North Koreans would leave? Sad that little pfat mad man isn’t on ice!
Actually I am quite surprised too!

  3. The reason the Dems are not worried about North Korea threatening Guam is because they think its already tipped over.

to all of you Rep,s, that dont know what “Fire & Fury” means: I have seen the photograph of the children running away from a Napalm strike that burnt their clothing of their body, in the Vienam war.
I am84 years old and have seen Fire and Fury in many different combinations.
I have personally seen a mother and a child running down a street that was just bombed and set on fire by Incendiary devices of white Phosphor, and you cant put phosphor fire out with water.
Do you need more convincing, get out of your Delirium, it is dangerous

    • Better them than us.

    • What are you saying, joey?

That we shouldn’t do anything because of foreign civil casualties?

What happens when a mother and child with severe radiation burns are running away from an American city that’s just been nuked?

What do you say about that, josephine?

    • I have never seen that horror. I’m sorry you experienced that! I want nothing remotely like that here, or anywhere else. Let’s hope for peace. I’m very much afraid that we aren’t going in that direction. Peace, brother.

  5. Guam is a tiny island.
    How about Congress?

  6. We have waited way too long on North Korea’s leader. He wants a war for some reason. Maybe so that the U.S. will use up alot of resources and then another country will be in a better position to attack us. I do hope that the U.S. starts quickly replacing whatever resources they intend to use up – yes, more jobs out there. I pray for innocent lives lost, however, it is time to take all of North Korea out and not the way things went in the 50’s. Bomb the whole country and be sure the bombs will take out all those below ground bunkers…..

  7. I hope this fat twerp in NK realizes that if he attacks anyone, his entire nation will be leveled.

  8. Lets take a look at a possible scenario of a war with north Korea.
What we know is that we cannot do is fight a war similar to the first Korean war 1947-52
a massive ground invasion from the south would be a disaster for us and South Korea
    what to do .
We know the ground force of north Korea is 2 million man strong and has been trained for a ground war with the south along the demilitarized zone through the mountains through which they have built many tunnels . most of their equipment is 20-30 year old Russian stuff completely outclassed by both the South and American forces .
We know that Soul is vonerable to such an invasion because it is only a few miles from the border and within artillery range once the invading force has crossed the DMZ. The 30 thousand Americans would quickly be overwhelmed simply by weight of numbers . . it would be a quick and tragic war with many lives lost in the south .
there is a different approach which America can initiate ,
we have to strike first for this to work .
Since most of the North Korean ground force is already in the southern part of their country it has to be supplied and commanded from the north of the country , a lot of it already lives in the tunnels waiting to go , it is a huge army built to go only one way , south ,
In one strike cut it off from the northern supply routs with field sized A bombs a few miles inland of the border along the whole border , no long term effects from radiation .
    Freezing it in place ,
Since food is in such short supply in North Korea, after about a weak ( while cease fire talks are taking place at the UN ) its commanders would have to make a decision because when those A bombs fell a single missile took care of Kim and others, hitting command and control centers .
The Sothern commanders would now start a move through the tunnels thus exposing the many entrance points .
As of to day we have three Carrier fleets and support groups already on station , that is 250 fighter bombers and assorted attack aircraft, there is also a sizable Marine force with its own carrier groups also on station ( America has 12 such groups in operation today )
With the Tunnels exposed they can be quickly sealed on the North side along with the North Korean air force and navy
The troops in the tunnels only have one way to go , south , but with their hands up begging for food which the south would be ready and happy to provide .
    war over .
It would be foolish to bomb north Korea and kill civilians because when the countries are united the south and America would have to build it all up again . What we whant is a population largely untouched by the attack ready wiling and able to join the south and prosper as a FREE country .
China would stay out of the whole thing , they do not have the will or recourses to join in . this time .
they are having a border problem with India and a border control problem with North Korea all at the same time .

Just a few thoughts from an old cogger from England .

    • NORK’s artillery would be taken out by bombs, maybe even nukes in the first minutes. Therefore, very little damage from there.

Speaking of nukes, don’t you think we have contingency plans for those tunnels.

And then you brought up our superior equipment/technology. Go to youtube and search for ‘ac-131 gunship’ and the ‘A-10 warthog’. It doesn’t matter how many men and armor they have. We’d cut through them like a thresher through wheat.

So the only question is, will Trump have the balls to completely annihilate NORK? If he hasn’t already, he should tell the chins that if it does come to armed conflict, NORK is gone and they’ll have to live with a well-armed ‘democracy’ at their doorstep.

  9. We don’t need to resort to nukes.
Carpet bomb the launch and production facilities. Perhaps test some MOABs.
    Oh, and liquefy their leader.

  10. kim jong un… the mouse that roared. Let him have the heel of the boot.

  11. opinioned1 | August 9, 2017 at 8:48 am |

Comrade trump is a friggin embarrassment to not only America, but now the moron has dragged the world into his idiocy with his shoot from the hip pile of crap.. Nobody in their right mind thinks this idiots rant should be taken serious, other than Kim Jong Un and he`s just as deranged as the wanna-be dictator trump. The idiot trump the LIAR, needs to be locked up before he stupidly starts WWIII with his next ignorant rant or tweet.

    • Still as&shys sore from losing the election?

      You’re little tantrum is priceless!

    • Terri Barrow | August 9, 2017 at 9:50 am |

Oh child go home. We don’t need people like you. Go HIDE in your home, cover your eyes, the REAL Americans will handle EVERYTHING…….but when its over, you bet your ass you had better get on the ground and kiss Trump’s feet as well as ours.

    • LibertyWriter | August 9, 2017 at 11:51 am |

      spewing idiocy.

    • oneprivateer | August 9, 2017 at 8:15 pm |

What you said about Kim Jong Un is exactly what many leaders in GB and Europe said about about Hitler before he invaded Poland. What you said about Trump is what many leaders indicated about Churchill before Hitler invaded Poland; Churchill was correct!

      • You can bet your azz comrade trump will never be a tenth of the leader Churchill was. All the idiots concerned with is trump and screw anything else. The liar spends just 3.8 days a week in the WH and most of that is watching cable news and sending out 4am drug induced tweets that do nothing but tear Americans apart. Over $27 million in just 6 months in travel cost to his own golf courses and those like you defend this how????

  12. Bye kim! Can’t be rid of your fat asss soon enough!

  13. A video was released yesterday from 1999 showing how our president would deal with this threat. He is staying on track. He knew then what he knows now…the importance of fighting back hard to stop Kim Un Jong. A MOAB would do just fine.

    • Time after time, Donald’s prescience is friggin’ amazing & sometimes just scary ……

      • All American | August 9, 2017 at 5:12 pm |

He is nobody’s patsy for sure! Donald J Trump is a “Great President” one whose likeness America could only dream of in the past🇺🇸For more than 8 long years.
He is a unifier not a divider.
He causes no chaos and only seeks the truth as blatantly as he may “tweet” it😊

    • All American | August 9, 2017 at 5:08 pm |

This is where 8 years of failed diplomacy has gotten US.
      Thanks Barry…

  14. I love the fact that Trump isn’t taking the NORKs seriously. He continues to act like the grownup, warning lil kimmie he’ll get a spanking if he doesn’t stop throwing tantrums.

And I wonder about cheena. Are they giving lil kimmie the okay to act up? If this gets away from the chins, they have got to know that Trump will punish them, as well as NORK.

I think they’ve been trying via moles, but fathead has smoked them out and had the moles eliminated. Allegedly, he’s cleaned house several times eliminating those that he feels aren’t loyal.

Trump won’t have to….The rest of the world will…..the chins economy would collapse as businesses pulled their manufacturing back into country.

    • oneprivateer | August 9, 2017 at 8:09 pm |

I wonder if China is pushing KJU to keep on being a bully?

Big mistake Kim ! You should have just followed his body piercing !

    • Ruth Traver | August 9, 2017 at 3:57 pm |

Don’t forget folks this bully in North Korea killed his own half-brother recently before he got to North Korea I believe the half brother was on a layover in Malaysia. Kim sent an operative to spray poison in his brother’s face at the airport.

  17. Extemporaneous show of support.

Sure, it’s pure coincidence they are all dressed identically.

  18. realclearconservative ✓ᶜᵒᵛᶠᵉᶠᵉ | August 9, 2017 at 8:02 am |

If the NK runt manages to tip Guam over, Hank Johnson would be seen as being visionary by the Left.

    • You got a little more to add to that, sport?

By the way, everybody predicts something about everything. Someone is bound to be right.

      • realclearconservative ✓ᶜᵒᵛᶠᵉᶠᵉ | August 9, 2017 at 8:51 am |

How’s that -> ‘/s’ work for you, Skippy? Was it really necessary?

    • If Hank’s right, they can all just grab an oar and move Guam out of harm’s way.

  19. i just feel sorry for those in SK. Any kind of provocation and Lil’ Kim will retaliate against them first. They have artillery lined up along the DMZ ready to fire at a moments notice.
I would think that maybe an EMP and just take out all their electronics to no communications and send them back to the stone ages.

    • I’m not so worried about that supposed devastating artillery.

A couple of nukes will fix their little red wagon.

And I’m sure that any response or action taken by us, includes wiping out their artillery as one of the first steps.

    • Agreed SK would take the brunt of any attack. A EMPB is only temporary and doesn’t effect artillery (not guided). We would only have a small window of opportunity to attack with MOAB and cruise missiles taking out Rader & artillery sites. Allowing for air supremacy. This would IMO would have to happen in 10-20min.. Before the electronic equipment effected by the EMPB come back online. All this would have to happen in complete secrecy. We all know how that would turn out! Not good by a long shot!

    • All American | August 9, 2017 at 5:17 pm |

🇺🇸Our troops are tough and ready have no doubt Mad Dog Mattis is nobodys fool👍🏻🇺🇸

    • They’re already in the stone age, so that would merely be a lateral move for them!

Note that most in the photo for this article look perilously thin, or should we say half-starved. Any disruption of the food distribution system in NKorea would probably debilitate a good part of the population.

  24. Best not to get into a situation where you have to, but if there’s no other way to handle it and you have to fight with a bully, best to kick him in the family jewels sack right off and put him permanently out of action immediately. Even the biggest and meanest critters go down like a poleaxed steer shot in the head with a .44 Magnum hollow point.

  25. Attack a military base that is home to Los Angeles class fast attack nuclear submarines????

    Mr. Un, meet Mr. Tomahawk.

  26. It’s time to NUKE North Korea…..make it a parking lot for 10 thousand years

    • thevaliant x | August 9, 2017 at 7:50 am |

You can’t do that idiot. The casualties in China and SK would be enormous.

      • andrew moore | August 9, 2017 at 9:19 am |

Not if we use tactical nukes…Kim Un is talking about using strategic nukes….but we have the capability to use Tactical nukes….much smaller, much smaller burst, but same devastating results to the immediate area….tactical nukes were designed for battlefield targets while Stratigic nukes were designed for mass casualty on a major scale.

        • Wind direction would still be a factor, but you’re right. I’m thinking a few dozen 1kiloton tactical nukes for all that 1950’s artillery he has pointed south, and a 50 kiloton nuke for Pyongyang, all launched at the same time.

    • Dragonglass.

  27. The fact that the Dear Leader threatened Guam, rather than a US mainland target or Hawaii shows that his confidence in his ICBMs is not very high. Guam is far closer to North Korea than either of those target areas. That means there is still more time to stop him if we only have the will. But not much more.

    • 20 minute fly time……

    • Slwsnowman40 | August 9, 2017 at 8:51 am |

Maybe it is a accuracy problem and they know they can only hit Guam? What would be the point if he aims for Los Angeles and hits the nuclear test ranges instead? The result would be the same – they are toast and ashes in the wind, but what real damage did he cause us?

    • All American | August 9, 2017 at 5:07 pm |

KJU is not worthy of the North Korean people.
