Gunfire Reported at Mali Tourist Resort

At least two people have reportedly been killed in an apparent terror attack at a popular tourist resort near the capital of Mali.

Residents near the ‘Le Campement Kangaba’ resort reported hearing gunfire and seeing smoke billowing in the air.

The government says Malian troops and French counter-terrorism forces are on the site as authorities report at least four assailants were killed.

Local officials say the resort came under fire by gunmen, but have yet to release further details of the attack.

32 guests have reportedly been rescued so far.
