On Tuesday Senator Jeff Sessions appeared at a Senate Hearing to begin the confirmation process to become US Attorney General.

Despite tough questions from lawmakers, his colleagues believe Sessions has more than enough support to be confirmed.

The hearing for Senator Jeff Sessions began at 9:30am in the Russell Senate Building.

Sessions, who has served as a Senator for more than 20 years, began his opening statement thanking President elect Trump for the nomination.

“I think he’s doing a great job, I like the tone and the tenor. I thought I’d ask him some hard questions, but I’m not buying into the idea that Jeff Sessions is anything but a good, decent, fair, conservative man,” Senator Lindsay Graham said.

Senator Lindsay Graham hasn’t always supported the actions of his Republican primary opponent, President elect Donald Trump, but he is now supporting Trump’s pick of Jeff Sessions for Attorney General.

Echoing the sentiments of Senator Graham, Senator Ted Cruz also voiced his support for Sessions and believes that he will be confirmed as Attorney General under the Trump administration.

“I think the hearing has been quite productive and I think Jeff Sessions is going to get confirmed as Attorney General,” Cruz said.

Although Senator Sessions has received the support of lawmakers such as Senator Graham and Senator Cruz, he will still need to answer to a number of Democratic Senators who oppose his nomination.

Yea the dem questions like do you still beat your dog were so professional!!! NOT! . These people should be allowed to speak In public let alone pretend to represent any citizens in this country.

Liberals take notice…we’ll only be taken advantage of 1x. You think nothing of Eric Holder making up the laws as he went along and/or bending the law as he saw fit. Yet now that the American people have chosen another point of view, you do nothing but play politics with an honest man who will uphold the laws that are LEGALLY made. What a farce they are. If it’s politics you want to play (even when inappropriate), we too can play the ‘game’ when it’s our turn.

Cory Booker ought to talk about Loretta Lynch not Jeff Sessions! Which is more fit? Or maybe Booker ought to compare the ethical standards!!

I could hardly bear to listen to the questions and allegations. Jeff Sessions is a person of honor which is more than can be said for 90% of those involved in his vetting process!

A simple majority of votes is all that is needed thank you Harry Reid and the Democratic Party. Elections mean things don’t they President Obama?

But the Republicans have a slim majority of 2 – and 2 of the Republicans are Graham and McCain.

I read that Sen. Manchin will vote to confirm so McCain’s potential “No” is canceled out.
