GOP House Members Say FBI Leadership is the Problem, Not Field Agents

December 28, 2017

Washington, D.C.- Emerald Robinson, Political Correspondent

Democrats and mainstream media are accusing Republicans of discrediting the Federal Bureau of Investigation in order to de-legitimize the Robert Mueller probe.  These accusations come as Republicans seek to learn more about potential anti-Trump bias of investigators and officials involved with both the current investigation and former Clinton server probe. However, Republicans in the House say they aren’t questioning the integrity of thousands of field agents across the country but the leadership at FBI Headquarters in Washington.

“I just went to the FBI office in Indianapolis and saw the men and women on the ground. They’re doing great work. They have the best work ethic.  They’re patriotic citizens and they want to uphold the rule of law which is part of our American exceptionalism,” said Representative Todd Rokita (R-Ind.).  Congressman Rokita added that he worries about these FBI agents whose good work is being put at a risk by “politicos who are at the top of the food chain in these agencies abusing power.”

Representative Dave Brat (R-Va.) agrees with Rokita saying that he feels that the FBI has a couple of senior level officials who are partisan.  “You’ve got an open partisan being hired in all of these key little slots that are partisan and it challenges the credibility of some of the FBI,” said Rep. Brat who found details concerning potential FBI use of the unverified Steele Dossier and anti-Trump texts messages sent by FBI agent Peter Strzok to be major breeches in FBI standards.

Although Congressman Rokita maintains his faith in the FBI as an institution, he fears that corruption in the bureaucratic Washington offices of these agencies is reaching an all time high. “We need to have trust and confidence in these agencies.  Here-to-fore we did, but it’s being eroded and it’s being eroded by facts that are being exposed and I don’t think it’s over,” warned the Indiana congressman.

Florida GOP Rep. Francis Rooney said Tuesday in an interview with MSNBC that he wants leaders of the Department of Justice and the FBI to “purge” officials that he says are politically biased against President Trump.

This is what I saw from the beginning of Jeff Sessions recusing himself, and Rosenstein appointing Mueller the very next day, after he had interviewed with Donald Trump to return to FBI as Director. I have not believed Mueller, Comey, Rosenstein, did right by President Donald Trump and the American People. They were there in their positions, during Obama administration, and did nothing about Clinton or Obama actions. Glossed over. And naming special counsel, with no law broken, left that investigation of looking for a criminal violation, then finding who committed it, or others crimes. Expensive, and drags on and on, and on, until funding is removed, or any action taken, would be worthless.
——– 10 year terms for FBI Directors , with the power that goes with that position, makes them secret police as dictators use. And Secret Service Agent who wrote book of Secrets of the Secret Service, really blasts the Clinton Administration. 970 (?) FBI records illegally held in Clinton White House, on Republican Opposition, most glaring, along with other violations is a blot on our USA history.
——- We need more oversight, or reporting of Intelligence, or judicial agencies, to avoid destroying reputations, trust, or belief of the American Voters, Citizens, just as our voting system needs complete overhaul in all states. Remove illegal voters names, and prosecute those most guilty.
I DO NOT TRUST THE GOVERNMENT WE HAD LAST 8 YEARS, and have questions of those since 1970 era.

  • HML

If you know what the problem is, FIX IT! Fire their a$$…

  • Tom Horn

Get rid of all the anti administration agents at any level…… Obama did, and he replaced them with far left traitors and saboteurs right up and down the line.

  • Fergus

SKUM always rises to the top, and it has happened at the FBI probably a long time ago. J Edgar Hoover was no prize himself as I recall.

  • James Edmond

Where does the FBI leadership come from?

  • DCBlueBlood

Breaking NYT Fusion GPS Shares What It Gave To Congressional investigators …

Trump is trying to destroy the FBI because the Bureau had someone on the inside of the Trump campaign telling them about the Trump/Russia relationship. Trump is at war with the Justice Department and Special Counsel Robert Mueller because they know a lot more about the Russia scandal than anyone in the public realized. It turns out that the FBI wasn’t starting from scratch. They have had sources of information, including one inside the Trump campaign for about a year and a half.

It is looking more and more like the FBI has got Trump or people very close to him. If this is true, it would explain a great deal about Trump’s behavior and why he is at war with his own Justice Department.

Donald Trump may already be caught.

    • ja ko

Wrong, FBI leadership is a total disgrace and embarrassment.

      • DCBlueBlood

That’s what you say and more indictments are coming. FBI attacks are falling apart …

Congress needs to clean up the justice dept and the fbi by doing an in depth investigation and holding people that are withholding documents in contempt of congress and prosecuting them or at least locking them up till the documents are produced unredacted. These globalist ticks need to be removed from the government dog. Congress on down needs to be deloused!

  • Bob Ritthsler

    Happened in my agency.

  • Had enough

I have the fullest faith in the ground agents , it the leadership that must go !

  • zoey

Wow not hard to figure that out , God bless Nunes , Jordan , Goddy, DeSantis and Judicial Watch

  • DiploBear

Simplest thing to do; find out which of these folks made “notable” contributions to the DEMOCRATS. That should give you a start to sort out the sheep from the goats; or should I say wolves? Why would anyone give a contribution to Hillary, without expecting a return on the “investment”. And ask yourself” does voting for or contributing to a known criminal like HRC, make you an accomplice/felon.??? Sure looks like the “head shed” in the FBI and Justice Department heavies are suspect.

SO WHO can we trust to actually DOWN SIZE and restructure the FBI?
it isn’t the FBI and it isn’t the DOJ!
How about a temporary non law enforcement commission made up of NRA members and the little sisters of the poor?

    • nfcapitalist

Charles McCullough, the OIG of the intelligence agencies who was threatened by the Director of NSA, James Clapper at the direction of “D” Diane Feinstein… for trying to bring to the attention of Congress that Loretta Lynch, Attorney General of the United States of America… gagged the FBI team investigating Uranium One.

Give him the chore and let McCullough choose his team from those investigators who were gagged!

  • nfcapitalist

FOX talking heads stepping into the mode of giving these traitors a pass… “time to move on” is becoming the theme; are there threats involved or is it an attempt at snarled logic to give treason a pass because the threat has been thwarted… temporarily?

  • Varangian Guard

I’m pretty sure EVERYONE has been blaming the leadership and not the troops. Why is this news?
The answer is leadership these days in DC is an oxymoron. They do not lead, they blame, they follow, they avoid. They DON’T own it, whatever “it” may be that day. If it goes well, they will take the credit, if they fail, they blame.
Only taxpayers are held accountable for their actions, and the only actions they seem to be interested in are the paying of said taxes.
If you can’t pay taxes, you are then a progressive constituent and it is okay to blame the taxpayers for any failure you may encounter.

    • nfcapitalist

EVERYONE except the agitation propaganda News Media… remember the smiles when Chuck Schumer said the intelligence agencies have ways of settling scores with those who criticize them… like the FBI is Vladimir Putin’s FSB?

Any individual who was hired, promoted, and then committed themselves to the nefarious efforts designed to destroy our president of the United States should be charged, indicted, and prosecuted to the full extent of every law, rule, statute, and punished with extreme prejudice.

  • jenshadus

I agree with this. I know plenty of field agents who really believe in their work, and really believe should be apolitical and not someone’s private army.

    • Localdude

…then we must support those who come forward and reveal the criminals in their midst and the managers at FBI and DOJ who direct illegal acts. Those who do not reveal the illegal actions of their managers (or refuse to perform illegal acts, same as a soldier refusing to preform illegal acts for their officers) – are therefore complicit in the same illegal acts if they do not come forward. Worse, those who perform illegal acts at the direction of their ‘managers’. The ‘rank & file’ have the goods (evidence). Do they believe that they have no responsibility to whistle blow? I am starting to believe that they support illegal political acts that their agency has been engaged in, for a vey long time now…

  • Spud51

In law enforcement, as well as in the military, we have great people, but politics has too much to do with picking their leaders.!! There should be a system in place to enable these organizations to pick their leaders from within their ranks, without outside interferance.!!!

  • MJABRTDK

It’s not the FBI, it’s BHO, Clinton, Lynch and Comey and their people. I think the American people and President Trump are feed up waiting for AG Sessions . The GOP is starting to send letters of concern to Sessions and nothing is happening ???

  • Max42

I disagree. If the rank and file FBI agents were conforming to bureau standards for ethical conduct, they would be the first to blow the whistle on higher level corruption. But they haven’t, even after Director Comey went public with corruption in delivering his exoneration speech for Hillary Clinton, who Comey never even put under oath to testify. It stinks, from top to bottom.

    • nfcapitalist

FOX talking heads being directed to guide their listeners to “move on.”

The AG of the USA gags the FBI investigative team on URANIUM ONE and Director of NSA James Clapper threatens the OIG Charles McCullough for bringing this to Congress… where is Charles McCullough… is he hiding at the bottom of the Chesapeake?

  • Vigilant Templar

Liberals are genetically programmed to lie and obfuscate. I believe most FBI rank and file are patriots (one in my family). It’s the leadership that has sullied the honor of the FBI. That has to stop and reverse course now.

  • mike

I have read that it is common practice for two agents to be present when you are interviewed. One asks questions, the second records your answers by hand. No recorders are allowed. Why not? Who should rely on the competence, or the honesty, of the note taking agent when their freedom is at stake? If the FBI were a decent organization they would use recording devices. The only reason to do it by hand is to be free to distort and lie about what the person being interviewed said. Sometimes for the benefit of the person interviewed, sometimes to destroy the person. If the FBI were honest, and the truth was what they wanted, they would use a recording device. If I am wrong about the refusal to record speak up. But this is what I have read.

  • HML

Hard to believe they haven’t seen that the lib/progs have been jamming the bureaucracies with like minded lib/progs for YEARS……………

  • Richard

    Barack Obama allowed the terror
group Hezbollah to sell $200 million in cocaine annually in American
cities to facilitate Iran nuclear deal.
Multiple DEA agents speaking anonymously to Politico have
confirmed that Team Obama spent eight years derailing a multi-agency
investigation targeting Hezbollah, in order to facilitate the
    disastrous Iran nuclear deal.

In a nutshell, Obama allowed Hezbollah
to operate a multi-billion dollar cocaine distribution and money
laundering scheme IN THE UNITED STATES to “soften up” Iran for
nuclear talks. Every time the DEA attempted to take action against
Hezbollah, the Obama administration threw up roadblocks. Obama let
Hezbollah establish itself as an organized crime operation on
American soil, so that he could score what he viewed as a “foreign
policy win” with Iran. Google it yourself, make your own
    judgement.

  • nfcapitalist

This was Obama’s fundamental change in America… total CORRUPTION!!!

  • Sonny Shaw

The government needs to be purged of all Obama appointees and new hires back to 2009. Better yet with the seniority system in effect because of the Unions, just cut the budgets of all the agencies by 20% and that should just about clean house of any Obama insurgents.

  • Matt

If there is Russian collusion and no doubt there is it is with moles in the DOJ and FBI… how much is left that hasn’t been corrupted?

Loretta Lynch orders the FBI investigation of URANIUM ONE to be gagged… where are the whistle blowers on Obama’s AG of the USA meeting in secret with those connected with the crime of treason while being investigated?

  • hobartneck

This much rot in the FBI, think about the Pentagon after the Obama purges….

  • All American

There is no Leadership in the FBI!

  • ranger bob

As they say in Japan: fish rot from the head.

In my experience, when an organization goes bad (business, govt. whatever) the neurosis is always traceable to the person a the very top of that organization.

Leadership is so very important and we have so very little of it in our country right now. I pray for better leadership. Without that we will go the way of Rome, Exxon, and Lehman Brothers.

The FBI has rotten (read politically motivated) leaders and has for a very long time.

  • harrydweeks

So when are you going to become responsible to the American people who voted for you and throw these bums out. You talk and talk and nothing ever gets done.

  • Twinkle Toes

For everyone that thinks the top is only to blame, just remember, they were field agents too at one time and there is an old saying about staff being a product of leadership. When management is corrupt, abuses and uses the system, staff will follow in their footsteps. Management always show preference to those who are as corrupt as they are.

That said, I don’t believe they are all corrupt, but I do believe it is more wide spread than most realize.

  • Jon Julian

“GOP is not questioning the integrity of thousands of field agents” Don’t be so naïve about the level of corruption until you know all of the facts.

  • Arnold Maize

This is old news. When the FBI first got the Emails off the server, the agents working on them claim they were ready to have one heck of an investigation on Hillary and her home server. They knew then she had classified documents on it. Then Comey just brushed it aside and the agents who put hundreds of hours in going through all of these emails were told to abandon the effort and a glazed over version surfaced.
There were a bunch of angry agents who knew she was caught red handed, almost to the point of a mutiny.
I couldn’t believe President Trump kept Comey on when the administrations changed.

  • Sonny Shaw

Congress and the President together could reform the FBI leadership and make it a non political agency.

  • TwoElks

I disagree. I say field agents are just as responsible as management. If they really wanted to save the agency and America they would have exposed the corruption long ago. They had the proof to do so but chose not to act. We have a non functioning FBI and DOJ, how this ends up is anyone’s guess. We do know they are not going out without a fight since both political parties have joined forces to remove Trump regardless of the cost.

    • Vera Orsova

As soon as Comey said in the hearings that Hillary’s criminal activities didn’t rise to the level of criminal intent I knew the FBI at the top was corrupt and that Comey was in with the Obama/Clinton dark state. Comey lied along with Obama, Clinton, Lynch, and associates because he thought Clinton would win the election and he would move into a Cabinet position.

  • SaidNO2Liberalism

Hang Comey, McCabe, Ohr, and Strozk for sedition.

  • CALMLIKEABOMB

Rumor has it, the only reason Comey restarted the Clinton investigation, was due to the threat of an internal

first, but at least there wasn’t some big blow up at the FBI over it!

    • nfcapitalist

Funny you should bring up “RoundUp” as a cure for our political problems considering “RoundUp” is manufactured by Monsanto and if you Google “Monsanto and politics” you will see that Monsanto has a lot to do with our current political problems….I found your comment to be ironic and funny.

        • Vera Orsova

I have not known that but after what you said, I agree. I just happened to hit the right nail 😂

        • HML

Monsanto is a symptom and NOT the problem, the problem is politicians that can be bought that was elected by an uninformed electorate.

          • Andrew Moore8

That is not true and is what I call “Linear thinking”…thinking along one line of thought. It takes two to tango, and in this case it takes a corrupt politician which is the seller, and a buyer which is the corporations/persons wishing to purchase political favors….neither is any better than the other….if you wipe out the politician and leave the buyer which is still willing to pay and tempt politicians for their favor then the inevitable will happen….therefore the problem will eventually given time still exist…..So as you can see an uninformed electorate actually has nothing to do with the corruption within our system

          • HML

You said it, a corrupt politician………………………………………………

          • HML

I actually went back and read all that , Linear thinking, hoo boy….punishable by death? LOL the politicians will have to pass that law and you think the corrupt politicians will?!?! And you think voting him/her BACK in office is a smart thing to do?!?! the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Business people offering favors is no new concept and is not unique to Monsanto, and won’t be going away, just ask Menendez……………..You have a happy new year.

The fact that they are discreditable means top F.B.I. leadership has failed to maintain their integrity. Their failure threatens the reputation and effectiveness of entire organization. • mark abby

Blah blah blah. It comes down to this: who’s the damn boss??? If congress can’t get the FBI/DoJ to follow the law, then why should any one else?

If mayors, governors and even city councils can snub their noses at federal laws, then why shouldn’t everyone else?

Some one needs to have the balls to drop the hammer on all of them and until that happens then what we have is anarchy in our government at all levels

      loyal to what cause?

  • WSWSapphire

Finally, some GOP reps. spelling out the very thing Christopher Wray tried to gloss over when asked if people could trust the FBI.

Thank you for spelling it out, Reps!!! Please continue – we the people notice, and it matters VERY MUCH to us. It’s something you’ll likely have to do in many situations.

(Similar situation existing for the Pres.,who gets treated even worse by MSM, and why he so often has to use Twitter to really spell things out.)

    • Sharilyn Hartwell

EXACTLY! AND I have no problem with his twitters…it IS his way of going over the corrupted, lying mainstream media.
AND agree we have to have these major corruption by the communist party (Democrat party of corruption) exposed to the fullest. AND heads need to roll and be imprisoned for their treason!

      • MJABRTDK

        Agree 100%.

    • Gray Bryson

WRAY is a corrupt as Comey

      • No Mas

if not guilty, certainly too political… I need an honest leader in charge of investigations!

    • HarryObrian

So, what these all knowing swamp dwellers are saying is that field agents have no allegiance, alliance or loyalty to their bosses?… And that bosses don’t pick the people who work for them??
      ya, I don’t think so.

      • WSWSapphire

The majority of field agents(though not all) are too busy every working day of their lives, often putting themselves in harm’s way, to protect this nation, and assuming the bosses are good guys. It’s not like they have time for MSM and the likes of others spreading lies. However, some closer in working rank to the bosses(how many top bosses, the corrupt ones, are there, anyway?), have been extremely frustrated seeing those at the top ignore the law, while they risk their lives upholding the law. The morale of those increases exponentially each time some more truth finally makes it’s way to the public, as well as the new leadership of the U.S. (Don’t believe it… just search for some trustworthy news sources to see those who’ve already spoken out-esp. though who were thoroughly taken about & shocked when they brought news of wrongdoing in jurisdictions under the FBI, to those holding top positions in the FBI & no action was taken; or just ask an agent in a local town, when he has the time, what his or her opinion is, including the opinion you hold of these field agents.
You need to listen to C. Wray, or any of a host of others again. You seemed to have missed out on the sheer volume of those who make up the FBI. The corrupt at the top could not possibly be in direct communication w/the majority of field agents. For one, there just aren’t enough at the top, as it should be, to take time for even 1 word w/every honest field agent.
And you surely believe it is every agent’s duty, no matter what rank, and no matter how corrupt any part of the FBI may show themselves to be – to serve in the interests of the safety of the American people. (You’re saying, for example, those under Franken, which include his victims, should have their loyalties to him. You know better than that.)

        Goodbye – Blocked no.29.

        • HarryObrian

Not having the time for MSM makes my argument not yours. They’re too busy following orders.
You may want to revisit your understanding of government bureaucratic hierarchies, especially within the justice system.

        • Allen Marston

If we had an Honest Media we most likely would not have this much problem

        • Bob Ritthsler

Nobody at the ASAC level and above should be trusted until proven not Obamanista scum. No manager or member of his/her staff in DC at all.

      • Twinkle Toes

Thank you – you got it.

  • Roy Beane

Some of the GOP members of congress seem to be finally catching on but a lot of them still seem to be like mushrooms. Totally in the dark and letting the Dimmocrats shovel bull manure all over them whenever they get too close to exposing Dimmocrat wrongdoing and collusion.

    • WSWSapphire

Hopefully, others may see they actually can get their msg. out from these 2’s example. Esp., as we well know there are many more lib. corruptions to expose & prosecute, once the very serious Hil./fake dossier/bias/fraud,etc. interfering w/2016 election process is dealt with.

      • HarryObrian

        Sadly, never happen… never.

    • Twinkle Toes

I have to disagree, they’ve known everything all along. They’ve been in their cushy jobs for too long and don’t want to rock the boat.

  • kaiju

The way you get to the top in any agency is by being political. For the previous eight years people got to the top by being pro-Obama.
