French President Emanuel Macron promises nearly $60 million in aid towards French Caribbean islands devastated by Hurricane Irma.

France’s leader pledged the support Tuesday after landing on the island of Saint Martin.

This comes after the, then category five, hurricane made landfall last week.

Officials report at least 11 people were killed in Saint Martin as a result of the hurricane.

France, the U.K., and the Netherlands have recently come under fire as some say the European countries have been slow to aid their territories in the Caribbean.

Macron has since denied the claims insisting that rebuilding the island is France’s “top priority.”

In addition to financial aid, Macron has also mobilized 2,000 security forces, including his country’s army to help island residents rebuild.

How nice of him since 1/2 of the island belongs to France. Where’s the Dutch on this? This island is split right done the middle, which I never understood. Don’t need a passport going from one side of the island to the other, nice road though.

Last night I heard by what I think is a very credible person that there were 1000 dead in ST Martin. It’s destroyed and the people there now don’t even have clothes to wear. They lost everything. I’ve been looking for something about 1000 killed b y the hurricane but nothing. Is my source wrong.

Speaking of the hurricane, has anyone heard how Trump’s MAGA Lago resort fared?

Hey, little Mac, send them a bunch of all those muslim invaders you are allowing to ruin a Beautiful France where the Great Joan Of Arc fought to save.

$60 million is pee in the ocean compared to what’s needed. In the meantime gangs of thugs are roaming the island with guns they looted from the government telling all whites to leave. I say leave and never come back!!

Seeing as how his country is such a failure right now it makes one wonder how Macron ponied up $60m out of good will. I guess the same argument goes for sending 2,000 security personnel to help in civilian matters. This is almost like Putin going for the Venezuelan oil fields right after it’s citizens finished eating the zoo animals from starvation. I wonder what those security personnel will be investing in during their stay at those islands. And I wonder who ends up owning the rebuilt buildings.

Since neither France, Dutch, English no longer have any military facilities in the Caribbean or for fact west of the shores of Europe. It figures. Oh English have one in the falklands and an airstrip on Ascension Island. Amphibious warships are needed

The USA should do what the Canadians did to us….Send $100,000 worth of aid on a $4.5 million dollar aircraft…..
