OAN Newsroom

California Senator Dianne Feinstein is losing support from Democrats in her bid for re-election.

Since unveiling plans to run for a sixth term on Monday, several Liberal lawmakers have spoken out against the move.

A lawmaker from Feinstein’s state said she’s out of touch with the grassroots on economic and foreign policy.

Others are disappointed the 84-year-old is not giving young Democrats a chance.

However, campaign expenses could also raise an issue as her junior senator had to spend $15 million in last year’s race.

Currently, Feinstein only has three and a half million dollars.

So… basically, you failed English in school right? Is this where your misplaced aggression comes from?

  • seegul

If she is voted out what would replace her. Probably something even worse.

  • Dwight Thompson

    Vote her OUT

  • Tim maher

And you are a shining example of their finished product. Heaven help us!

  • Layla

Her husband, Richard Bloom, has made a fortune in government contracts during her tenure. She can’t afford to retire.

  • Tony Anthony

She is 84 y/o time to retire. They should have mandatory retirement ages, or at least have the people of SF wake up and vote someone new in

    • seegul

      They also need term limits.

  • skipper99

There was a time, about 25 or so years ago, when Senator Feinstein was astute and had constructive ideas. Not so any more, she has morphed into a shell of what was a once bright and articulate legislator.; Time to go to pasture for this old cow.

  • Lensgrinder

No, when 5 year old children are being indoctrinated to accept trans gender and homosexual lifestyles as acceptable when their biggest concern is what flavor ice cream should I get and should I wear my batman or superman shirt to school, that IS indoctrination especially when the parents don’t want it and have no say in the matter.
You tell me what else could it be?
Again, when a person has no argument they resort to insults.
Maybe you should go back and study grammar and punctuation as it seems you may have missed a day or two yourself.

  • sonicbrew2

When will liberalism be classified as a disease?? Hopefully soon.

    • TrollSlayer

It’s not actually a disease. It’s a mental deficiency like retardation!!

  • TexanForever

Bannon can do more for Trump outside of the WH than within. That’s why he left (with Trump’s approval). … good tactical move.

  • IndependentTexan

old, decrepit dems running their party – let it roll on and on. From Dianne to Nancy to Maxine to Bernie….the dem leaders could easily fill an assisted care living facility (with additional care for the mentally feeble) and look complete at home.

  • TexanForever

You be sayin’ it wright, bro’. You be gettin’ uh good edjukashun in dem publik skoolz. Iz you maybe thinkin’ bout takin up teachin? You be good at it, an’ you kin be teachin mo leftis’ stuff to dem kids so dey gro up edjukated like you iz.

    Gotta go.
    .

    • Tim maher

Good one! Fellow Texan here too.

  • Winston Smith

She’s not towing the Socialist/Progressive line. She is actually speaking truth and that has no place in the Democratic party, Comrades.

  • Don jon

Good greif, 84 now by the end of next term she will be so old when voting on a bill instead of yea or nay they tell her blink twice for yes three times for no

  • airstart

We have to keep the dementia caucus alive and well in our congress, special emphasis on the “alive” part. Let’s see, the GOP have their dementia caucus also, McCain, McConnell,

  • Al Lejdly

    Pelosi / Feinstein 2024!

  • Pezgun

She keeps thinking for herself and that’s problematic for a party that now speaks only in the words of its chairman.

    • airstart

The accusation that she even thinks is enough to loose re-election bid. Thinking is the unforgivable sin on the left.

  • Al Lejdly

Great, now that leaves either Waters or Pelosi to run for Prez in 2024. I’ll vote for either one in the primaries. Pence won’t even have to campaign in the general.

  • Ocitman

Shes 84 and wants 6 more years? If no term limits, how about age limits?

  • Douglas Sherwin

If that’s the best writing you can do you’d better head back to those public school that failed you and ask for your money back!

  • Mike

Hey Diane…grab old Jerry on your way out. You two are peas in a pod. You can shack up with PD as I’m sure that person (did I get that right?) wouldn’t mind.

  • Elizabeth A. Parks

Some try, but many are pressured to spend time on politically correct crap.

  • Elizabeth A. Parks

I dream of a Republican senator here in California.

  • Bud

    “Who will you” what?

  • Bud

Anyone who supported Obama, Hillary, or even Comrade Sanders is disqualified from claiming that any Republican lies.

  • Bud

That was probably supposed to be intelligible.

  • Bud

A lawmaker from Feinstein’s state said she’s out of touch with the grassroots on economic and foreign policy.

Translation: The “grass roots” are even more loony leftist than Feinstein.

  • Tim maher

Sounds like a career right up your alley.

  • Tim maher

Eventually? Doesn’t make sense just like the discredited democrat Russia sham didn’t make sense. Appears that it is you with your head buried in the dung pile and in need of catching up. Ask your third grade teacher to read you some real news.

  • neoface

84 years old, you are a living fossil, time to retired into the sunset. Woman you need to give the next generation a chance, to feed off the government funded trough. Another word, you overstayed your usefulness and worn out your welcome.

    • Al Lejdly

      What usefulness?

    • seegul

Not so sure about giving the California next generation a chance.

  • Tim maher

That’s what we are doing. Once we get rid of the Rinos and obstructionist dems in 2018 you won’t believe how good things are going to be especially once he gets rid of the left over Obama stench.

    • TexanForever

Lord Obama is making noises like he’ll be getting back into the game soon. No pathological narcissus can stay out of the spotlight for long. They feed on it. Michael might not be part of it this time.
      .

  • Dell Wilber

That’s because she’s not as nutso as Waters and Pelosi…

  • 808Americans

How will she ever live if she does not have her current gig.

  • Mike in Illinois

Meet the new boss……same as the old boss.

    Welcome to Party Politics.

  • disqus_THYayqlCAi

Wow. Just wow. You must be a product of those great public school teachers. You clearly were not taught grammar, and not that great on spelling. Or maybe you were being sarcastic? I can only hope.

    • Bud

A smidgen of punctuation, properly applied, would also have helped jjones perhaps just a little.

  • Jim Hatfield

Three and a half million? What a load
of horse crap that is. From the beginning of her career at the
Federal level she’s fed her contractor husband lucrative Federal
building contracts. She got him into the business of selling off
closed Post Office properties. Now he’s been hired by Commiefornias
Brown Regime to run the Dream Train project which has so far been
used for nothing more than a money machine to pay back big Democratic
Party donors. So where’s the rest of the Billion hidden?

Insane that she wants to die on the Senate floor. She would be 91 when her term is up. Does she not have a family or life?

    • All American

She did support the Iran deal⬇️
There is some good and bad history…
Senator Feinstein secured passage of bipartisan legislation to respond to California’s five-year drought and modernize the state’s water system.
She also worked to bring cyber threats to the table and worked on a bill to pass Improving cybersecurity.
She secured passage of a bill to ensure Housing for homeless veterans in Los Angeles.

  • props4u2

Good example of why we need term limits. Time to retire along with several others in both parties.

    • Mike in Illinois

      We already have term limits.
We call them elections, every two years, 4 years and 6 years respectively.

      We ought KEEP that authority.

Giving government more power, like if we allow termS limits, would be disastrous.

  • harrydweeks

Every politician over 75yo. should be forced to retire. Many are displaying signs of dementia and some are just drawing pay checks .

  • All American

I would like to see Dianne Feinstein change her party to Republican. She has a brain and she knows how to use it unlike the old thinking rats!!
I would hope that the Republicans would fully support her🇺🇸I would👍🏻

  • Andrew Moore8

She is losing support because more and more libtards are figuring out she is just plum bat chiot crazy.

  • Bill Jordan

It is too bad that you write as if you didnt make it past the 4th grade.

  • Tiger184

Feinstein has sometimes stepped off the Democrat Plantation – such as last week when she said that no gun laws could have stopped the Las Vegas mass shooter.

Remember, with Leftists it was, is and always will be: Party first!

    • Al Lejdly

I read that and thought that somebody invented an anti stupid pill and gave it to her.

  • Seerightthere!

You Leftists will vote for who they damn well tell you to vote for! Feinstein is your only choice. And why isn’t she 50 points ahead!

  • Ray

    Term Limits please.

    • Mike in Illinois

And when you finally get a person in there who isn’t sold out to party lobbyists, and you want to vote for them again but government won’t LET you, you know, because government then decides who can stand for election and who can’t…..

      Then What?
Call for removing TermS limits so we can have our voting power back?

      Ahem.

      • Ray

Mike, the reality would be that eventually, the “person in there who isn’t sold out to party lobbyists” will be sold out to lobbyists. Thus the reason to vote them out next time as well.

        • Mike in Illinois

When the PARTY controls the SEAT, do you truly believe that putting a different body in there will change anything?

The biggest lobbyists, the biggest special interests, ARE the parties, Ray.

They ARE the sell outs. and you want to make THEIR control of their PRIMARY ballots an instituted control over the General elections ballots too? Seriously?

What you describe is what we have NOW, as if it will come to pass.

What you support there Ray is augmenting it – entrenching the primary corruption into the general.

Tell me, why is it you think giving government MORE power is the answer?

          • Ray

Mike, stop putting words in my mouth/posts. All I want to do is help Drain The Swamp.

          • Mike in Illinois

I am not putting words in your mouth Ray, I am just showing you what the ones you are saying actually mean.

You, like others, have been fed talking points, which function to FILL the swamp. If yuo truly want to drain it, well, you will reject thos polishd talking points and look instead to what matters as to HOW we DO drain that swamp – the parties have to GO, and for the very reasons George Washington warned about in his farewell address. He warned about political faction and how that would destroy this nation, and he was correct.

          • Ray

            Goodbye

  • EMorowati

Is it because she is too liberal, progressive, or not liberal and progressive enough ??? California is descending into a communist.state. maybe this is what the left is really looking for.

  • michaelparsons

There’s a lot of things sagging for her.

  • Paul

  • Richard McMeekin

I am a former Republican Chief of Staff in the United States Senate and a diehard conservative.

My take: she has visibly moved from Harvey Milk Left to Middle of the Road in recent years. She is still a dedicated liberal but has a solid grasp of the legislative process.

With Schumer and far Left radicals chomping at her heels, along with baby Senate USCP-loving upstarts, who think 84 is too old, she will probably go down in flames. I’m 87 but I would Never go back period! San Francisco worships LGBTs, Kaespernick, and nude gay parades – so who is sufficiently knowledgeable to accurately predict the outcome? Moi? No way!

    • Bud

She has not budged on the 2nd Amendment. She is dead set against it.

  • Bob Romanelli

The Dems don’t like her because she’s honest and objective. She doesn’t worship Alinsky. The Dems have gone so far left, they are about to leave the universe as we know it.

    • Mike in Illinois

Of course they have, and it is indeed intentional.
SO what are they actually up to?

It is called making an open play for open control of the Republican Party.
Where o where do all those “former democrats” go now that the hard core super far lefties control the (D)?

Well to the (R) primary of course.
Weed out the Non Lefty candidates in the primaries and they get the farthest left candidates possible no matter what happens.

And this is why we need not take the bait for Primary Elections, ahem, NOT government functions.

We run GOOD candidates in the GENERAL, the REAL election.

If we don’t, well, then the uniparty officially has total control, never to relinquish it.

  • Isaiahdolan

Progressives want a minority to become the next senator.

    • Mike in Illinois

      Kamala already is….

  • J. Waltam

No! No! No! We need to re-elect her. She complements Pocahantas, Nancy Ploesti, Watermellon Waters, and Ripper Chappelle-Nadal, to name a few, perfectly. These are the clowns we want taking up airspace in the Demo operation.

  • nick

Problem for them is, that occasionally she acts and speaks as if she has some sense.

    • Numerical Logic

      Some might say she’s disingenuous.

    • Paul

      when?

    • Ken Jones

hummm, I must have missed that.

Happened about 30 years ago. Guess you were a bit young then. Have a wonderful day Ken.

        • Ken Jones

          Unfortunatly I wasn’t “a bit young” then. 🙂

  • michaelparsons

Maybe Harvey will toss her some cash ( for a grope or two).

  • Mike Bullard

Her husband is getting a billion in commissions from selling the post offices… Maybe he can use some of that money.

  • JOHN T. FOX

LET HER RUN AND SHE WILL EITHER LOSE TO A CONSERVATIVE MAN OR DIE IN OFFICE AND HAVE A REPLACEMENT NAMED.

  • A marcus Young

Diane Feinstein wondered “Who will pick our crops” if we deport illegal immigrants.

    • Carol Hyndman

Disgusting! Get people off unemployment lines to pick crops. Maybe the experience will get them back to school to train for a (new) career.

    • Tim maher

Hopefully we can send her to pick them instead of messing up legislation.

  • FoolIggy

REAL AMERICANS (regardless of party) will work to DRAIN THE SWAMP of these crusty ol’ swamp rats.

Clearly, ol’ Dianne could be elected Queen of the Rats.

I am confident her cupboards are full of American Cheese she hauled out from her time in office while working the Swamp City of DC for all it could provide!

  • ghettotrashracistnegro

‘currently, Feinstein only has $3,500,000.00’ in her re-election campaign war-chest?

Huh? She should ask her husband for a loan. Remember, she steered several high-profile, no-bid, military contracts towards her husbands companies worth several billion dollars. He can fund her campaign.

    • Carol Hyndman

If she claims she does not have much, she gets taxpayer dollars. Make her ask her husband, probably be glad to fund her to keep her away from Ca. and him.

    • Tim maher

Only problem with that is that liberals NEVER spend their own money.

      • ghettotrashracistnegro

I know that. I was being facetious.

  • Roy Beane

Just more Dimm Deadwood that needs to be chopped down and cleared out, and hopefully that will happen shortly. This matter of politicians supping at the public trough for their entire lifetimes and sucking down all our money out of our pockets really needs to be corrected in the worst way, but the way the swamp protects itself, will be a tall order to stop this nonsense once and for all.

    • Localdude

…a very old and creepy swamp monster Roy. soon to be a museum display thank God…

  • John P

Democrats socialist agenda will not work but they do not care about the American People. They only care about grabbing all the power and money for themselves. We as Americans can not allow this to happen and even Democrats need to start voting in candidates that have the American People’s interest. Not a progressive socialist, Marxist and Communist agenda. So if that means voting for Republican or Conservatives so be it. They are not racist. The people that are racist are the Democrats. They try to blame Republicans and Conservatives for this. It was Barack Obama and all his cronies that created all racial divide in this country. The progressives agenda one size fits all. Limited freedom and idea that the government will take care of you. If you don’t have good paying jobs government can’t do anything. President Trump is trying to fix this mess. He may not be polished politician but he certainly has the American people’s backs despite all the critics.

    • Localdude

yes. That would be nice, wouldn’t it? I’m not going to hold my breath. From what we have seen of them they will bring in the most extreme candidates and eventually will find themselves as relevant as the american communist party in about 1965. lol…just obscene. also, thank God Trump has exposed the RINO GOP, it seems to be re inventing the brand to I dunno, american citizens first and follow constitutional law? The 1980s seem to be finally over, or wrapping up – the battles lost and won. Its a great new day.

    • Tim maher

      Amen!

  • Localdude

lol..I hope she is knocked out by one of the ‘race obsessed’ – racist ethnic monsters – she helped to create. It will be epic. Then they can blather all the nonsense – openly – that they actually believe – until the whole country sees just how insane the DNC people have been for a very long time – but only until recently – actually say what they really believe – openly. Its going to be fun to watch – and hear – the insanity.

  • “The” Bobguy

Classic example of what is wrong with Congress (both sides). We need a Constitutional Convention and we need term limits.

  • antiliberal00

Good riddance. Take Piglosi and Baxter when you go.

      • Bud

Elections are not term limits. Anyone not in the district or the state has no input into the decision as to whether, for example, Pelosi or Feinstein will remain in office. Oops, my bad, unless they are one of those Democrats who are bused from polling place to polling place to vote multiple times.

      • Legion

Wrong .. that doesn’t work, the people who are in power are corrupt and all holding onto that power for 8+ terms! .. Don’t be so naive!

Like lens grinder said, they simply have no idea that they will likely be the first ones shot when the elite are through with them. • Robert Adams

It’s hard to make the changes you suggest when the attitude of some of the teachers has been formed by the progressive teachings of their college professors compounded by the socialist curriculum. Change needs to start in the universities and colleges. An expression used in my experience with schools and their administrations is “if the teacher isn’t performing well in the classroom, promote him/her to the administration level.”

          • Lensgrinder

How do you know I’m not or was not involved?
When my kids were in school my wife and I were very involved, now our youngest is 27, plus when laws are past at a State or federal level they pretty much take over what children learn in school. The input of parents is ignored because these liberal so called educators are so arrogant they believe that they know more about what a child needs better than the child’s parents. That’s when it’s time to pull them out.

          • All American

These days there are many choices regarding education.
I was involved and was able to accomplish change. That’s all.

          • Lensgrinder

You are right, there are choices. Our daughter pulled our grandchildren from public and put them in a charter school.
I just feel very strongly that we as parents know what’s is best for our kids and should be able to decide, rather than some government entity. Unfortunately in todays society there are many young parents who are so self centered and don’t care what their kids are taught, which at this point in history is frightful when you consider where our society is headed.

The thing these dullards don’t understand is that with socialism and communism there are only two classes of people, the very rich (elite class) and the very poor class (slave class).
They somehow think that these politicians care about them when the truth is, beyond getting their vote they could not care less. They just want the power, then they start subjugating people to obey their whim. What we end up with is a government like north korea, but these young people are deluded if they think they will be in the elite class.
Then the only gage that will be used to determine medical care or life and death will be their value to the state or ruling class. No value equals no care or assistance.

      • Tim maher

Oh no. Haven’t you heard? No one will have to work because the government will provide everything and handle everyone’s problems. It will be heaven on earth.

        NOT!

        • Localdude

…yeh, they even will start time all over again, no more ‘Christian calendar’ ‘cuz its racist…like the ‘Khmer Rouge’ promised their people in Cambodia – on about 1970. ended pretty ugly…

        • Ken Jones

You have to wonder where they think all that tax money is going to come from with no one working.

          • Tim maher

I honestly don’t think that the left can think that far ahead.

          • Bud

They feel that’s why their god (which is government) invented the printing press. Just print it up!

      • TexanForever

Refreshing to see that you got “could not care less” right. Most say “could care less” when that’s not what they mean.

Also, good post. … The Dems are going full Marxist under a different name.

What, she not nutty, senial and leftist enough for the California libs anymore?

  • Rosicrucian32

DiFy, Pelosi, Conyers, McCain, McConnell are amongst my first choices to go on both sides of the, I don’t want carpal tunnel so I will refrain from trying to collect them all in one place.

  • Lensgrinder

Awesome, I never voted for her. I hope she finally loses.

    • Bud

I didn’t vote for her when I lived in San Francisco. I went to a public meeting at which she spoke in the early ’70s when she was a county supervisor there, desperately trying to become mayor. She spoke with a forked tongue even then.

  • John Degel

    She has to go.

  • Johnnytruth455

Maybe the people of California had enough and are starting to wake up.

    • Alton Gayle

      Good God I hope so!!!!

    • Legion

      Only about 1/3 of them.

    • antiliberal00

Doubtful. The only known cure for stupidity is death.

    • Localdude

…they have, but the California voting system has been counting illegal alien votes for years, dead people and any other fraud they can pull, what was it LA county filed more votes for Hillary than residents in LA ….something like that. The RINOs never allowed fed. investigations over the years to go forward as it would expose the ‘chamber or commerce’ scam to suppress wages and bring in workers for the developer buddies etc, etc.. It goes on…Cali. is a fraud and NOW the biggest battering ram against the reat of the country. It IS the bastion of the DNC, wholly owned at this point.

  • Mike Drop

Get this gun grabbing lunatic out of Washington.

  • RockyMt, CO

Feinstein is 84? It is time she retired and go enjoy all that money her husband made selling and dealing with government buildings. Like Pelosi I am not so sure she has a clear mind or can even read a bill before they pass to see what is in it…..

  • Melissa McShane

Democrat Party has shifted very leftward and possibly more left than what people like Chuck, Nancy, and Diane possibly thought. With the current leftist movement there doesn’t seem to be tolerance for anyone outside of their view points and not much tolerance for anyone older than they are.

    • Tim maher

So far left that they are now true socialists. Never thought I would see that in America. We better wake up and pay attention or we are going to lose our country.
