Former  Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen speaks out about the growing threat of North Korea’s nuclear program. speaks out about the growing threat of North Korea’s nuclear program.

During an interview Sunday Mullen said the regime’s nuclear weapons program will endanger the world.

The admiral also mentioned the importance of reminding allies of our presence in the region and that we will support them.

He emphasized how much of a threat North Korea is becoming and issued a warning about the possibility of a strike in the region.

“We’re actually closer, in my view, to a nuclear war with North Korea and in that region than we have ever been,” said Mullen. And I just don’t see how — I don’t see the opportunities to solve this diplomatically at this particular point.”

The admiral also touched on the ongoing Iranian protests and expressed his belief the U.S. should be more supportive of freedoms for the Iranian people.

  • Alan Lindquist

still trying to make themselves relevant to something . lol

  • Richard McMeekin

With no disrespect to Admiral Mullen, I agree with Samuel Sherwood below! If a frightened democrat president had not fired General of the Army Douglas MacArthur this situation would not exist today.

This has been Kim’s failed attempt at Nuclear Blackmail. He witnessed his father successfully pull the same stunt during the Clinton Administration. The US President buckled and gave him billions of dollars and TWO (2) NUCLEAR REACTORS! The latter gift may well have enabled Kim to achieve his current armory of nuclear weapons.

If Kim truly intended to attack the US all he’d have to do is hit our forces and their defenseless wives and children in S. Korea. He has not done so because he well knows we would launch a massive retaliatory attack and turn North Korea and Iran (if they backed Kim) into dust in the wind!

Iran has a ready and willing army of dissidents who would join with us in bringing down their oppressive leaders From Within! Israel would be happy to join in the melee as would Japan. Russia and China would not want any part of it.

  • Pezgun

Our current weapons make nukes look quaint. Kim’s only real shot at getting one here is by cargo container ship. With the number of third world countries handling them, it wouldn’t be as difficult as you might expect.
What better reason to keep everyone’s eyes on the rockets as his “present” wends it’s way through the maze of international ports along the route he had set up to make it untrackable. Even worse, by corrupting a port official or two along the way, he gets it assigned a false history allowing it to be shipped directly here and trucked to it’s final destination. Of course, he didn’t send just one.
“Yes, look at my rockets fly.” He says. “Keep watching the sky until you find my knife at your throat!” Happiness is but a cellphone call away.

    • famouswolf

Yep. I’m pretty sure that, unless Kim is put down soon…and I mean with some extreme prejudice…we will lose one or more coastal cities, and most likely by a nuke on a cargo ship. Makes me nervous right now, living just outside Seattle.
But, I would expect either DC or New York to be the prime choices for lil Kim. Hell, it’s a miracle it hasn’t already happened.

  • Stuck_in_Ca√→

Mullen is the father of ISIS. Of course the left trots him out whenever it needs a negative opinion of Trump policy.

  • Re

Sad the day has come when fat boy aka rocket man thinks he can destroy the us. Yes he can hurt us but it will be at his own demise.

  • Tom Horn

A North Korean nuke could arrive in Iran any day now. We really need to attack NK immediately and take them away and get rid of Fat Boy and his Fat entourage and cure the enslaved north koreans of the diseases he gave them and let them live again.

    • Re

You can not attack him first. We are the liberators not the conkiers. He will make a grave mistake.

  • pseudo-intellectual

That’s right, Admiral- blame the messenger, not the do-nothing policies that led to this crisis.

  • RetiredNavyphotog

Bill Clinton’s Commerce Dept., headed by Ron Brown, gave missile technology to China.
That is why Ron Brown has to die.

    • All American

Yes he did along with a ling long list of others…

    • Beaula

It is worth noting that Ron Brown was just one of four Clinton campaign
fund raisers to die under questionable circumstances. The others were C.
Victor Raiser II, Hershel Friday, and Ed Willey, a total of three plane
crashes and one “Fosterization”. Following Brown’s demise, his personal
attorney as well as a co-worker at the Department of Commerce, Barbara Wise also died under
questionable circumstances. As in the case of yet another “suddenly dead”
      member of the Clinton administration,
      Vincent Foster , Ron Brown’s
office was ransacked for files by Commerce staff immediately after his death.
It just doesn’t pay to “know” the Clinton’s!

      • J. Waltam

Be interesting to see the remaining lifetime longevity of Robbie Mook, Donna Brazile, and Huma Abedin, and that enigmatic black dude that stood close to Killary during her appearances (to name a few). They all have stories to tell and books to write.

      • RetiredNavyphotog

Excellent background info…most people don’t know.

      • scottie

Saw a dead deer on the side of the road. I wondered what this poor deer knew about the clintons.

  • All American

All of this at the hand of an 8 year do nothing Administration. The problem at this point in time is definitely beyond diplomatic resolution.
Another madman tyrant just like Hitler with the entire world just sitting like a duck 🦆 and we are all in danger no country is safe!

    • ShemSilber2

Pharaoh Barry’s was worse than a mere do-nothing job. He is a jihadi operative working for the destruction of America, and when he goes down, it will definitely be FAST AND FURIOUS.

    • Varangian Guard

He did plenty, it was ALL destructive and expensive. The objective was global equalization. Sadly not at the benefit of raising those in need up but by lowering the West down. That is a lazy man’s plan, not a Nobel Peace prize recipient. A sham all around indeed

    • J. Waltam

Slick Willie and Killary Clinton are the genesis of this debacle. G. (Dumbya) Bush was too stupid to get anything right, and Barry Hussein – well, we all this hajji’s story.

      • All American

Those named are in it for the money only👍🏻

        • J. Waltam

Right. but where can you spend money after a nuclear holocaust? Will national currency even have value under those circumstances? The fungibles will be canned Spam, TP, bottled water, fuel, and energy bars. Tragically, The Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation will be worthless so they can’t spread goodness and happiness throughout the world. Sorry, but I just can’t get a grip on the greedy logic of these ivy league poligrifters!

          • Pezgun

          • famouswolf

This occurs to me as well. I do not get the logic. Sell twenty per cent of our uranium to Russia, who I understand then sold part of it to North Korea. The stupidity, selfishness, and blind greed without apparent thought to the possible results is mind boggling. I guess they have a whole lot of the named ‘fungibles’. And some islands somewhere.

          • All American

It is tragic because all of the money in the world will not buy one happiness, respect, love or laughter. It will make you commit the 7 deadly sins and eventually they will show ones evil for all if the world to see!
Nowhere to run, Nowhere to hide.
You are not alone, I mean we know that they think of Americans as Deplorables.

          • sillystring

You forgot one very important item in your list. AMMUNITION!!!!

  • Localdude

I am hoping that the Chinese, with pressure on them economically from the current strong clear headed leadership we finally have – will see the light – and shut this Korean nightmare down for us all, permanently. I think they are back channeling the idea that ‘you all best shut them down or we will. It will be better for the Chinese to do it than us’. Sad, but so goes life. Hard choices made usually lead to peace and better economics for everyone in the long run.

  • Frank2525

I would say that Admiral Mullen, is no longer in JCS. General Mattis has a much better knowledge of conditions, and doe snot have a repressive President, who took months to make a decision, but only after taking a poll, sticking finger in the air to see how it would effect him politically. Eight years of his appeasement to Iran, Syria, and N. Korea let them develop nuclear and gas, weapons, and improve them. While collecting extortion from the free countries with promises to behave. And all the time they cheated on the agreements.
——-Just as ISIS grew powerful during that administration, with all the other alphabet terrorists in many countries. In this last year, with Military make war, actively, without long delays, or mircro-managing from the White House, ISIS is almost destroyed, and no longer holding force over any land, the war is winding down. And Donald Trump is making fun of North Korean KIM, as Rocket Boy. I don’t think the military in N. Korea want to take on the world, by starting a war. They bluff, but the bluff has been called. And Other countries are speaking up, with China also getting the message that violating the bans of energy to N.K. will not be tolerated. When China and N. K. both get cut off from world banking, both will be in trouble, and that is beginning to show with N.K. military deserting.
——-Same goes for the people demonstrating in IRAN against the leadership, with Donald Warning Iran, the World is watching. I really do not think General Mattis needs advice from Admiral Mullen. Just enjoy being retired. And try to keep Panetta away from Camera and Microphones too. He did not cover any of you with Glory over Benghazi.

  • landy fincannon

China also has nuclear weapons. Are they a threat too?

    • A marcus Young

Yes China is a threat because Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were United States citizens who were executed on June 19, 1953 after being convicted of committing espionage for the Soviet Union. The Clintons have not only given our enemies top secret information, but they provided them with the nuclear material as well.

      • RetiredNavyphotog

Ron Brown’s Commerce Dept. gave missile technology to China.
That is why Ron Brown had to die.

      • Rufus Firefly

China is a threat because of the Rosenbergs?

    • Lonney L Sennett

    • Shmacks Adventure

Nukes are fake weapons and do not exist. Japan was all Napalm.

      • landy fincannon

Was the fallout from the testing real?

      • Huks

Good grief! Are you allowed to walk around un- supervised?

      • ReaganKnewBest

You’re joking right? If not put your tin foil back on buddy and get off the internet.

  • Samuel Sherwood

NorKo wants the US to back down, accept their having nukes, and withdraw from SouKo, then pay a bunch of money to avoid war. And because they think that with Obama gone and a gun totter in the WH, they are as looney as Tojo was in attacking Pearl Harbor.

    • Lonney L Sennett

Samuel, You have proven without doubt that you are an idiot! You know nothing of North korea’s actions sinc the Korean War. Please travel to North Korea prior to any aggression. Apparently in your case, natural selection has not worked.

      • Huks

ahhh, yea, sure. Only an idiot would travel to N. Korea. There is a very good chance you will never get out of there alive.
