The Department of Justice is appealing a recent ruling, clearing the way for a merger between Time Warner and AT&T.

This comes after the merger was given the green light by a judge last month.

The Trump administration has long opposed the $85 billion merger, arguing it would negatively affect competition in the television industry.

AT&T has since responded, saying it’s surprised the DOJ is exercising its right to appeal and it’s ready to defend the court’s decision at the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals — something that may take place in the next few weeks.
