New York, NY – Claire Hardwick, OAN Political Correspondent
While identity politics is being used by different political groups to promote certain ideologies, Jillian Melchior, a political writer said a place where identity politics is most prevalent, and exclusive, is on left leaning college campuses.
Melchior has spent a lot of time on college campuses, and says college campuses are ironically, becoming more exclusive.
“I do a lot of reporting on college campuses, and one thing I’ve noticed is they’ve got a lot of these buzzwords that have become really popular. One of them is inclusion. So, you know, we have to have an inclusive climate, inclusion is a priority. But a lot of times, this word inclusion is actually being used as a euphemism for exclusion,” Melchior said.
Melchior said the best example of exclusion is by policing language, where they set up inclusion programs that bar certain language.
Melchior said there is a trend on college campuses to claim you are being oppressed or targeted in some way, and it is pushing college campuses further to the left while shutting down opposing points of views.
