China Militarizes Pacific Islands, Leaked Photos Reveal Extent of South China Sea Buildup

Several Asian nations are showing concern over China’s push to militarize small islands across the Pacific.

New photos released by a Philippine newspaper show the extent of the buildup across the South China Sea.

Docks, concrete runways, and even multi-story buildings now fill almost every inch of several dozen man-made islands, which China claims now belong to them.

The military build-up has emerged in pictures taken from 1,500m in the second half of 2017, according to a Filipino paper. (Photo/

“China carrying out peaceful construction on its own sovereign territory is only to contribute more to the region’s peace, maritime safety, disaster prevention, ocean research and search and rescue,” stated Lu Kang, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry. “Of course, China also needs to construct necessary defense equipment for its territory..these equipment are not directed at any particular country.”

The U.S. has condemned the controversial project for years.

The islands, while provocative, also happen to be located along some of the busiest shipping lanes in the world.

If China’s claims to the islands were to be internationally recognized, the country would instantly gain thousands of miles worth of offshore territory.

In what was described as an ‘unrestrained’ show of power China has apparently transformed seven reefs in the Spratly islands into military island fortresses. (Photo/

The U.S. military has responded with so-called freedom of navigation operations in which the Navy sends a warship only a few dozen miles away from an island installation, triggering stern comments from Chinese officials.

The last freedom of navigation operation happened nearly a month ago, but Secretary of Defense James Mattis has promised the military will to continue watching over the region.

“We can help in maintaining the maritime domain awareness in the South China Sea, the North Natuna Sea, this is something that we look forward to doing,” Mattis stated.

The association of Southeast Asian nations is working on a new framework to deal with the reality of fully-militarized islands, but it’s unclear if China will cooperate.

Curious isn’t it? This island, how can it be a threat when it’s so vulnerable to annihilation? My guess the Chinese are going for oil platforms to fuel their economy… but still a mystery to me.

  2. Obama thought thsi was not a problem bedause in a few years these Islands would be underwate as a result of global warming.

  4. Man made islands will start falling apart soon then later from the power of the sea.

  5. China isn’t anybody’s fool anymore. They know they’re strong and creating a military buffer away from their mainland. I think we should recognize Taiwan’s independence and help build them up. Between South Korea, Guam, Japan, and Taiwan, we can ‘maybe’ keep a check on China’s posturing.

  6. Maybe the United States should start building some islands too, right next to theirs.

  7. Just what Duterte wanted……..cozy up there now you mor…

There is extremely quiet and accurate research to extrapolate that China is printing upwards of the equivalent of $1.2 quadrillion dollars (at USA 2010 inflation index) in fiat money a day to compensate for their completely failed capital allocation methods under Communist Party Rule. In addition, having thoroughly studied the subject, there is no such thing as accurate financial statements in China from the absolute granular level of statistics, all the way up to the consistently fictitious GDP reports. To even call it accounting is an insult to US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) especially before the globalist level effort to water US GAAP down in the name of coming into “harmony” with International Norms and Standards. That battle has already been lost.

There is a sequence of actions the USA can take on the economic side which will collapse Communist Rule in China in about 1-3 weeks. Although there exists the possibility of 1-2 quarters of slower growth in the United States if these actions are taken, there are three things are absolutely certain to happen if this path is chosen. 1) The US Dollar will forever be the reserve currency of the planet 2) 8-10% Real GDP growth would become the “New Normal” for our Brave Republic 3) We will have defeated our most insidious global rival without the loss of even one of our True National Treasure, The Brave Men and Women of the USA on the Front Lines of Any War, and none of Our Bravest would even have to fire a bullet.

This sequence was acquired by expanding John Nash’s work in Game Theory, with extremely advanced mathematics that did not exist during his most prolific years. I have further expanded on these more recent mathematical developments by applying unpublished symmetry groups which allow for Planck-time processing of infinite iterations of what is known as “Monte Carlo” or “Heuteristic” Analysis.

This would also be the most accurate way to navigate through the Many-Worlds Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. It is a past-time of mine to uncover that portion of mathematics which would be true in Every Possible World, regardless of base or symbols used. Since the quantity and nature of mathematical systems is only limited by our imagination, and that there is good cause to believe that each of these mathematical systems are in and of themselves sufficient to define a distinct universe, it would appear to be a difficult mission. For a primer on the physics discussed in this paragraph I recommend “Our Mathematical Universe” by Max Tegmark. His intelligence far exceeds Steven Hawking, who is quite renowned in this arena.

  9. A tsunami or typhoon and it’s all gone.

  10. Time for an underwater nuclear test or accident. Whichever you prefer

  11. The international community needs to tell China that these islands will NOT extend their shoreline, thus NOT extending out their territorial waters. That China is stuck with all the same boundaries as before. They are building in their territorial waters.

  12. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈWe Are The Champions!πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ | February 7, 2018 at 9:40 pm |

    Bombs away!! KABOOM!!!

  13. Tsunami!?

  14. SendThemPacking | February 7, 2018 at 5:47 pm |

With any luck the whole island is right in a normal path for some really record breaking hurricanes.

  15. I doubt the condemnation under the zerO administration was taken seriously.

Timing is everything, they saw the weakness, we blinked, they moved.

  16. Not much in the way of comments here this evening. Signing off and going to my music. A little James Taylor, if you don’t mind.

  17. It’s getting late, I know. For what it’s worth, this is what I think. Our fear of China is no less than China’s fear of us. It’s a mind game at this point. They know about our stuff. We know about their stuff. Nothing is going to happen until one side has an advantage.

That is not something that is on the immediate horizon. Especially with Trump in the game.

  18. Sooner or later, we will go to war with China. It is simply inevitable. I hope when that eventually happens, we have a President like Trump or Reagan.

  19. As soon as they are finished building, Taiwan is gone. What will be next, Philippines or Japan?

  20. That is NOT Communist Chinese Territory. Someone needs to blow those islands out of the water.

  21. For them to build an island, they have to use a mountain range to do it on (they can’t use the ocean floor, it’s to deep). The mountain range they are building on are a part of the active volcano range in the Pacific.

  22. elevenoclock | February 7, 2018 at 3:48 pm |

Those islands will be the targets of the first nukes that fly.

  23. Years before my father died in 2000, he said the US need to keep an eye on China. Millions of people and untapped resources. Russia and Iran were second and third on his list. The cyber breaches alone are very dangerous.

  24. Jim Harrell | February 7, 2018 at 2:11 pm |

In WWII the Japanese built up, manned and weaponized many islands. It did not turn out well for them.
How does one resupply an island when it is surrounded by hostile ships? Just sit and let them starve.

  25. Big enough percussion bomb 10-15 miles away = bye bye island

For now, we all should stop buying products made in China! Pay the extra cents or dollar not made in China. Most likely it’s a better quality!
2018-19, we’ll have more made in America. Thank you Pres Trump!

    • Buy local. The job you save may be y our own.

    • SendThemPacking | February 7, 2018 at 5:50 pm |

First place to stop shopping and getting chinese junk – Walmart.

      • Yes, true. also so many items on their shelves are unsafe. We bought some plastic drinking cups at Walmart. What could go wrong, right? Look at the bottoms of the cups. All plastics have a number that indicates its content. turns out the number plastic on the cups are “unsafe for anything for human consumption” . Look it up. By products in the wrong number plastic leech into the liquids you drink from them. Thank Walmart and China for poisoning us and our kids

    • everything I have ever bought that was made in China I had to return, such trash

    • Captain America | February 8, 2018 at 6:45 am |

We need to stop buying from Amazon also! Jeff Bezos is using his money that Americans are spending with him, and using it against us. SO MUSH CHINESE CRAP ON AMAZON! Have we really become this lazy?!

  27. China is preparing the invasions… its only time… Thanks Obama and commie demonrats

  28. We need to get our act together -quick! Japan is rapidly waking up to the reality of its situation as well as S Korea.. China may be a bigger problem than Russia..Trump knows this and yet there are morons in this country who would hinder him….

  29. WTF is going to stop them?

  30. landy fincannon | February 7, 2018 at 11:47 am |

So, you still think there wasn’t a master plan conceived at Yalta?
When Stalin, Churchill, and FDR connived to give China to Mao. Turning their backs on Chaing Kia-Shek, creating yet another communist threat for the world to deal with.

  31. Varangian Guard | February 7, 2018 at 11:38 am |

They have made considerable progress eh? It would be good to use the man made islands for a little target practice before they sink into the sea…….

  32. Every time “Made in China” is sold, the profits generated from that aid them in building up their military. And, now that the Chinese “Parliament” has conferred “Mao Zedong” status to their current leading reprobate, it is even more worrisome. No subculture of leadership can mimic civility as well as the Chinese.

  33. landy fincannon | February 7, 2018 at 11:36 am |

No military intervention, please. Let someone else do the heavy lifting for a change.

    • Like who? Philippines? Vietnam? Who exactly is going to take on China?

      • Not only that but I wonder if after the last 8 years of the Obama “do everything to bring down America” administration the Chinese are not at least at parity with the American military given that they have stolen much of our technology to use in there own military. I understand their navy is about as big as ours right now or am I wrong. In addition, with the demoncrats wanting to spend us into oblivion, how will we be able to borrow enough money to update our military even if they would ever vote to pass any legislation to do so.

      • landy fincannon | February 8, 2018 at 5:10 am |

        Anyone , but the US.

    • Captain America | February 8, 2018 at 6:42 am |

Who? This is WHY the UN and NATO need to pay up! We WILL police these matters (it’s also in our best interest, but not ours alone), but require the other UN and NATO countries to at least be financially invested. It can’t always be young, White, American male lives that are lost in situations like this!

      • landy fincannon | February 8, 2018 at 8:06 am |

Smedly Butler in his book War is a Racket.
Gave his account of how he opened up China for Standard Oil, in 1932.

Now here we are , some 80 plus years later. Confronting yet one more communist superpower threat.

The crony capitalists have been manipulating governments for thier personal gain for decades

  34. This is where the uselessness of the U.N. is revealed. These islands are ruled to belong to the Philippines, the Philippines has filed a protest/complaint with the U.N. for this illegal construction years ago — but where is the condemnation in the U.N. Better still, where is the recourse.
This is a land grab in a major scale where one bully nation has forced its will on a spineless Philippine government.

    • Duterte welcomed China with open arms. Told China “its ok as long as we can fish there” Ignorant flamboyant jerkkoff

  35. Great job obummer, if ya been any longer in office he would have let ISIS build a Pacific fortification.
What a total loser he was as president and notice no capital on the β€œp”

  36. Those bastards! Fake elections controlled by political party insiders, rapacious government officials colluding with crony capitalists, manipulated fiat monetary system, secret police spying on citizens, government schools indoctrinating the nation’s children to be subservient little godless communists β€” even worse in China than here.

  37. I guess that is one way to have a fueling station without invading another country Island! I don’t think it has much of a chance though…nature can be a mean foe when she wants to!

  38. antiliberal00 | February 7, 2018 at 10:28 am |

I wonder how they would like it if America built islands in the same international waters and weaponized them?

  39. And People mostly Liberals I suspect , still buy products Made In China …………….

  40. Perhaps an above ground earthquake is in order ……………

  41. Somewhere in Bejing is a paper that details this military expansion and taking over the South Pacific Islands, including Hawaii and the Philippines in about 50-75 years.
They ALWAYS play the LONG GAME.

  42. Earth to Al Gore: please call China and tell them that they are wasting their money, according to climate change experts when the fish are swimming in Florida streets the Islands will be under 10 feet of water…..Oh wait that was supposed to happen 5 years ago….or something like that…my bad

  43. Larry Cicatelli | February 7, 2018 at 10:00 am |

I’d like to thank Barak Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, etc. for helping out China…

  45. William Thompson | February 7, 2018 at 9:58 am |

Shame on you China for destroying endangered coral reefs.

  46. As long as they allow free shipping I am not sure if this is an issue. It is not like with out the island they were not able to stop shipping before. In addition, I do not think China would risk loosing its biggest “customer”, the United States. At least not until they get India and Afrika hooked on their cheap goods and establish a middle class there to buy them.

    • The reef was shallow water in international waters. China piled tons of rocks and soil on top of the reef to build it up, and now claims it as Chinese territory, with the miles of ocean all around it as theirs to exploit for fishing, minerals, and whatever they want. They also will now control the shipping lanes, and who knows what they might do to exploit that. I’m sure they’d be able to call the shots if the international community stands for it.
Just my opinion… it was in international waters, so now I believe the islands they built should be considered international islands that belong to all nations’ governments.

  47. Right now i think China is becoming more of a threat than NK. We must be more than vigilante in this matter and i do not mean start a war but should be addressed at the United Nations and we should step up military presence in the Philippines as deterrent.

    • NO they are not…they have always been a threat…..but N.K is making threats. Big Difference.

      • Guess what they could make the whole NK nuke crisis go away but instead they secretly give them oil and other supplies including missile launchers so think that China needs to be watched more because that is one of the problems . China gives us lip service but the problem just gets worse.

        • Captain America | February 8, 2018 at 6:40 am |

China uses N. Korea as a proxy to change our focus from China to N. Korea. Simple “Good Cop-Bad Cop” approach. We should know better, and maybe we do, but have allowed this action to continue under Bush and Obama. Where the Hell is Teddy Roosevelt or Eisenhower?!

  48. thanks, obama! that’s quite a mess you left for Trump.

    • And a quite few future presidents!
If something pupps with those shipping lanes we will be in a war

  49. Truth Be Told | February 7, 2018 at 9:28 am |
