Pres. Trump Officially Recognizes Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel, Plans Embassy Move

President Donald Trump speaks in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House, Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, in Washington. President Trump officially recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

He made the big announcement during a briefing at the White House Wednesday despite warnings from international leaders that such a move could spark turmoil across the Middle East.

The president also says there are plans in place to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the holy city breaking away from years of precedent.

President Trump says he has instructed the State Department to begin construction on a new embassy, but it will likely take three years to complete the project.

He also announced Vice President Mike Pence will travel to the region in the coming days to reaffirm ties with allies.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem bars American diplomats from leisure travel through the Old City and the West Bank.

This comes as the State Department expects a rise in Islamic unrest after President Trump’s announcement.

The landmark decision comes amid opposition to the expected move of international bureaucrats from the U.N. and E.U. as well as the Palestinian authority and Islamic terrorist group Hamas.

The U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem expressed concern over the Islamic street rallies planned for Wednesday in protest of President Trump’s decision.

“We must strengthen the popular movement which is rejecting the US plans to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital,” announced the leader of Palestine’s Democratic Front, Talal Abu Zarefa. “It is necessary to express the unity of the Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, the 48 regions and the refugee camps in order to emphasize that Jerusalem is a red line and it’s a capital of the Palestinian state.”

U.S. government employees are allowed to visit the designated areas only if deemed necessary, and not without additional security measures.

Seeing that it was a law that was signed by Clinton in 1994 and all the presidents just ignored it I dont see the problem.

  • Pezgun

He just broke us out of the Globalist confinement strategy to hold the middle east in a perpetual sate of unrest. It could result in short term conflict, but then it will end in peace.

The Muslims have no claim to Israel. Ishmael was give the Arab nations and Israel was given to Isaac.
“This is important, too. This child was Ishmael through who came the
nations of the Arab peoples and, eventually, Islam and the greater
    Islamic world.
Moreover, the angel of the Lord said to her, “I will
greatly multiply your descendants so that they will be too many to
count.” The angel of the Lord said to her further, “Behold, you are with
child, And you will bear a son; And you shall call his name Ishmael,
Because the Lord has given heed to your affliction. “He will be a wild
donkey of a man, His hand will be against everyone, And everyone’s hand
will be against him; And he will live to the east of all his brothers.”
    [Genesis 16:10-12]”

If Islam is the religion of peace I have one question for the Imams and those that support Muslims.
Somalia is 100% Muslim yet it is one of the most violent places in the world, so I have to call b.s. on the pedophile Muhammad and his teachings. I am a live and let live guy especially when it comes to the freedom to practice your religion as you see fit. However Islam is a theocracy, not a religion. Islam is the union of political, legal, and religious ideologies. In other words, law, religion and state are forged together to form what Muslims refer to as “The Nation of Islam.” It is given the sovereign qualities of a nation with clerics in the governing body and Sharia law all in one. World leaders should not capitulate to a theocracy that has potential to overthrow their nation and their laws. I fully support Israel and their reclaiming of Jerusalem.

Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression, to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey! What will you do on the day of punishment, in the ruin that will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help, and where will you leave your wealth? Nothing remains but to crouch among the prisoners or fall among the slain. For all this his anger has not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still. Ah, Assyria, the rod of my anger; the staff in their hands is my fury! …

If you follow Bible Eschatology very close you would see that this move is probably a precursor to Ezk 37,38, 39 wars. I think it;s great. If you read these chapters in Ezekiel you will know what I’m talking about. The US military is stretched so thin around the world now, we’d be hard pressed to help defend Israel. A massive attack from Her Islamic neighbors (without US or EU intervention) could only be defended by God Himself. As the book of Ezk declares.

    • airstart

A two state solution ain’t gonna happen, but total destruction of Islamic haters, their territories, their religion and many of their people. A prophesy in Ezekiel.

So, the people that are doing everything they can to kill western culture and western people are going to get angry about the US moving its embassy closer to the Israeli seat of government.

I’m worried… are they going to start trying to kill western culture and western people? Oh, wait… they already do that.

Seriously, I’m interested in what Trump has in mind when he says he thinks this will HELP the peace process. Frankly, I think he’s right, but I’d love to hear his logic on this.

While you may not realize it, we are living a dream right now with this new President. Because he is everything we hoped for and more. He’s getting things done. He is changing this nation from the Obama nightmare back to something more close to what most of us grew up with.

Give him time. It took Obama eight years to put this nation on the path of destruction toward Socialism, Communism, and the New World Order. Give the man a chance. He deserves at least that.

  • PatrickJ

But regardless of all the conversation, President Trump did this thing. He did something that should have been done a long time ago. He told the rest of the world that The United States of America supports and stands beside the State of Israel. Period.

    • PatrickJ

      What a cool comment. Kudos.

  • PatrickJ

Well, here I go again repeating myself. But I like this President. I like him because he doesn’t take any crap from anyone out there. I like him because he thinks first of America and American families like yours and mine. I like him for his strong stance on rebuilding our Military to it’s former greatness, in order to better protect all Americans from the many enemies we face going forward.

But sometimes, like maybe right now, I just love him for his fighting instinct. The rest of the world doesn’t want our embassy in Jerusalem? Then screw the rest of the world. We are going to build a new embassy in Jerusalem.

This President doesn’t wet his finger and hold it up to see which way the wind’s blowing before he makes a decision. Every decision he makes, comes from his gut. I find I like that about the man.

Until then, there will NEVER be peace because Satan (the Muslims) will not allow peace.

An interesting questionnaire for Palestinian Advocates By Yashiko Sagamori

If you are so sure that ” Palestine , the country, goes back through most of recorded history,” I expect you to be able to answer a few basic questions about that country of Palestine :
When was it founded and by whom?
    What were its borders?
    What was its capital?
    What were its major cities?
What constituted the basis of its economy?
What was its form of government?
Can you name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat?
Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence, at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation?
What was the language of the country of Palestine ?
What was the prevalent religion of the country of Palestine ?
What was the name of its currency? Choose any date in history and tell what was the approximate exchange rate of the Palestinian monetary unit against the US dollar, German mark, GB pound, Japanese yen, or Chinese yuan on that date.
And, finally, since there is no such country today, what caused its demise and when did it occur?
You are lamenting the “low sinking” of a “once proud” nation. Please tell me, when exactly was that “nation” proud and what was it so proud of?

And here is the least sarcastic question of all: If the people you mistakenly call “Palestinians” are anything but generic Arabs collected from all over — or thrown out of — the Arab world, if they really have a genuine ethnic identity that gives them right for self-determination, why did they never try to become independent until Arabs suffered their devastating defeat in the Six Day War?

I hope you avoid the temptation to trace the modern day “Palestinians” to the Biblical Philistines: substituting etymology for history won’t work here.

The truth should be obvious to everyone who wants to know it. Arab countries have never abandoned the dream of destroying Israel ; they still cherish it today. Having time and again failed to achieve their evil goal with military means, they decided to fight Israel by proxy. For that purpose, they created a terrorist organization, cynically called it “the Palestinian people” and installed it in Gaza , Judea, and Samaria . How else can you explain the refusal by Jordan and Egypt to unconditionally accept back the “West Bank” and Gaza , respectively?

The fact is, Arabs populating Gaza, Judea, and Samaria have much less claim to nationhood than that Indian tribe that successfully emerged in Connecticut with the purpose of starting a tax-exempt casino: at least that tribe had a constructive goal that motivated them. The so-called “Palestinians” have only one motivation: the destruction of Israel , and in my book that is not sufficient to consider them a nation” — or anything else except what they really are: a terrorist organization that will one day be dismantled.

In fact, there is only one way to achieve peace in the Middle East . Arab countries must acknowledge and accept their defeat in their war against Israel and, as the losing side should, pay Israel reparations for the more than 50 years of devastation they have visited on it. The most appropriate form of such reparations would be the removal of their terrorist organization from the land of Israel and accepting Israel ‘s ancient sovereignty over Gaza , Judea, and Samaria.

That will mark the end of the Palestinian people. What are you saying again was its beginning?

    • Pat S.

Most of the recent problems with the Israeli’s can be traced back to the Nazi party, a man who was one of Hitler’s lackies, was given the job of creating unrest by finding a few Muslim hot heads to stir up trouble and re-ignite hatred of the Jew’s. Take a look at Hamas and their charter.

More killing, just a new excuse for them to use….nothing more. They don’t REALLY want peace, they just want to be seen on TV talking about it.

this will probably be the First Honest step in achieving Peace in the Mid East. i am sure that President Trump talked to the leaders of the ARAB world before he did this. they may not have liked it but they accepted it. the Palestinian nation will eventually get over this and the real negotiating will now begin. Thank You President Trump for what will eventually be recognized in the history books is what was the defining moment in achieving peace

The only reason the Arab/PLO want Jerusalem is because it represent the last of the Muslim victory over the Jewish, and it’s loss a disheartening realization within the center of Dar Islam of the failure of the prophesy of Islam as conquer of the world/infidel. Glad to see someone in here that knows history beyond the last few decades. Liberals apparently have no memory or desire to look at history so their whole life is spent giving knee jerk reactions to whatever is happening at the moment. The entire problem is actually outlined in the book of Genesis.
If anyone would bother to read chapter 16. Most Arabs are the sons of Ishmael and they cannot be tamed. Anyone who knows this and believes it as I do, is exasperated with the constant attempts to make peace with them. It is not possible, it is foretold by the Lord and we see the truth of it everyday.

      • Living in the Times

Great post! Yes, the ongoing fight over the Abrahamic birthright is ongoing. A little research will go a long way but most are unwilling to do the research and it can get confusing.

“Romans 9:7-9 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.”

        • Pat S.

Research would uncover facts and that goes against what is known as common sense.

          • Living in the Times

Are you saying that researching the Bible is contrary to common sense?

Every time somebody in Gaza or the West Bank engages in violence or anti-Semitic protests, the culprits should be arrested and deported to Syria until all radical Muslims are removed from Israel. Such an angry looking mob. This is not new news by any means:

“In 1980, Israel passed a law stating Jerusalem was the united capital of Israel. In 1989, however, the U.S. began leasing a plot of land in Jerusalem
that was to be the spot where a new embassy was to be built. The 99-year
lease costs the United States $1 a year. The land remains undeveloped.
There is a U.S. consulate in Jerusalem. In 1995, Congress
passed a law that required the embassy to be moved to Jerusalem, saying
if Israel claims Jerusalem as its capital, then the U.S. should respect
    that.”

Some Muslims say Jerusalem never housed a Jewish temple.
Some Muslims dont believe that the holocaust occurred.
The Muslims have the Dome of the Rock chained/barbed/guarded frence around the alter of Abraham where Isaac was lain but the Muslims on the other hand feel that Ishmael was the one offered according to the Koran.
And there are many other Holy Sites that they have claimed.
    It’s just wrong!

    • Living in the Times

I guess they are not too familiar with Jewish history:

“The crowning achievement of King Solomon’s reign was the erection of the magnificent Temple (Hebrew- Beit haMikdash) in the capital city of ancient Israel – Jerusalem.”

…of course they do not follow the Bible so there you go!

      • IceColdLogic

Recent evidence strongly suggests that where the mosque is currently sitting is the site of the aincient Roman fort and not where the temple was.

        • Living in the Times

I am not familiar with the geographic location of Solomon’s Temple or the Mosque. But the comment I posted was scripture and in reference to another post which stated the Muslim’s claim there has never been a temple in Jerusalem. According to the Bible, there was a temple in Jerusalem, Solomon’s Temple, I am just not sure of the exact location.

          • IceColdLogic

I understand that. My comment was just an interesting tangent (interesting to me at any rate). You’re correct that many Muslim’s disputes those truths.

          • Living in the Times

Yes. That region, their history and religious battles is very confusing and beyond my knowledge. I try to follow current events and apply them to prophesy, which is confusing as well because I am in no way a Biblical scholar, lol. I appreciate the polite back and forth commentary. I use to comment on Fox and it became ridiculous on that site so I deleted my account and came here. Fox has become not much more than a romper room for liberal name calling. I certainly appreciate opposing viewpoints, but the folks over there just want to argue and be vulgar and act like children so, again, appreciate the adult conversation!!!

          • IceColdLogic

A year before the 2016 elections I had… maybe 5 people on my ignore list. Now I have 90 (just counted them). And I don’t put people on that list for disagreeing with me. Most lives have not changed since BC…tragically

          • FoolIggy

Muslims (radical or otherwise) only know one truth: THEIRS.

That truth says Muslims shall rule the earth & all the infidels in it, thus it does little good to argue with someone who sees you as inferior especially when their destiny is to dominate those inferior non-believers of the Koran.

That is why, in my opinion, Muslims are a religion of hate (even among their different sects) and they will stop at nothing until they cleanse the world and bring “their laws” to it!

Always thought this sounded a lot like what Mr. Hitler had planned for the world?!?

          • ray

Not all Muslims are like that. There are fanatics in every religion. There are peaceful people in every religion too. We have to recognize a difference between them (the peaceful and the radical).

          • DocHolliday

Islam is not a peaceful religion. Are there good, nice people therein? Of course.
But to say it’s a peaceful religion is ignorant.

          • FoolIggy

Now that is a dilemma that neither side can manage.

Hell, even the Muslims kill their own if they are not ‘true believers.’

These ‘fanatics’ as you call them, rape, slaughter, and pillage men, woman, and children in their sects, out of their sects, and all others based on the belief it is their ‘RIGHT.’

Talk about a political nightmare. Our legislative swamp rats (around the world) can’t even police themselves from the sexual predator swamp rats among them.

Somehow you think these ineffective swamp rats can actually articulate any meaningful language we could all follow to prevent chaos like Europe is seeing?

The fact there are no attacks doesn’t mean plans are being made AND many ‘peaceful’ muslims are supporting the very activity that the radicals are planning!

Citizens throughout the world want someone else to get their hands dirty regardless of ‘their cause.’

This doesn’t mean peaceful folks don’t or won’t provide support because they believe in a “just cause” regardless of what they might say or how they act around their non-muslim neighbors!

These are holy wars that have raged long before Jesus walked the earth and I suspect will continue until man vanishes from the earth.

How to keep it in check so peaceful nations can enjoy this world is truly the dilemma!

        • Lensgrinder

The building before it was a mosque was a Christian church.
When the muslims took it over they ransacked and looted all the valuables.
