Following the opening of the annual Paris air show, Boeing announces the launch of a new version of its 737 Max jetliner.

The Max 10 is 5.5 feet longer than its current Max 9, making it the fifth member of Boeing’s family of single-aisle aircraft.

Airlines are increasingly selecting bigger single-aisle jets, making up more than 40-percent of airbus’s single-aisle jet deliveries in 2016.

Boeing said it had more than 240 orders and commitments from at least 10 customers for the new plane, which can carry up to 230 people.
