Argentina is mourning the five Argentine tourists who were killed in Tuesday’s attack in Manhattan.
The Argentine consul in New York — Mateo Estreme — expressed profound sadness for the victim’s families.
The group was celebrating the 30th anniversary of their high school graduation when they were mowed down by a driver.
A candlelight vigil was held at their high school Wednesday where hundreds gathered together to remember the victims.
The Argentine president will soon pay tribute to the victims as well.
A total of eight people were killed in the attack and numerous others were injured.
President Trump said the Uzbek immigrant behind the attack should get the death penalty.
He made the comment in a tweet Wednesday night, adding that the N.Y.C. terrorist— identified as Sayfullow Saipov— was happy and asked to hang an ISIS flag in his hospital room.
The 29-year-old was charged Wednesday with providing material support to a terrorist organization and violence, as well as destruction of a motor vehicle.
Officials say he admitted to being inspired by ISIS, and admitted that he had planned the attack for months.
He even rented a similar truck on October 22 for practice.
Saipov did not enter a plea, and is being held without bail.
