As the deadline for the DACA program approaches, Republicans are pressuring their leaders to find a permanent fix before Christmas.
34 GOP congressmen sent a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan on Tuesday, urging for a permanent solution to DACA before its expiration date.
The memo states that reaching across the aisle to protect recipients before the holidays is “the right thing to do.”
This comes after the Trump administration announced it would wind down the program in September.
However, the letter still leaves out more than 200 other House Republicans.
Almost 800,000 initial recipients and 900,000 renewed recipients are waiting for the legislation to pass.
